MOOPYLAMB BOOK CLUB: The Meaning of Mariah Carey Part I - Wayward Child

I just finished the chapter on her mother, which was the best so far.

It's curious how she idealises her father, and is much more forgiving of him. I don't know whether the reference to her mother "sainting" her grandmother after she died, and her reflection that this is quite common, is an explanation for this.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the chapter on Alison.
Yeah I thought she was rather harsh on Pat. I did chuckle at the "She recorded an album at the age of 44. Did she think she was going to be discovered? She had three kids" or something of that ilk and I thought OH WOW

GAGGED at her saving her cat from wonderful Henry with a SHOTGUN :D I loved the little story of him hearing Vision of Love and screaming out his car "She made it!"

Should Morgan not be in jail for trying to... [edited spoiler out, as it's in another chapter]? :D

Also Alison for burning poor Mimi

Love her writing. Bullets ricocheting to describe the domestic abuse situation between her brother and mother. Her use of metaphor has always been spot on.
