I know him from Puddle Lane.

I thought I recognised the name but I realise now that it's the name of a roofer who lives down the road

Gutted. Properly gutted. An absolute genius. If a generation remembers him from Raggy Dolls and Puddle Lane that's all good but he was one of the most gifted musicians and songwriters the planet has ever seen. His Beatles pastiches were so exquisite that they kept showing up on Beatle bootlegs. And The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band really were magnificent, something for which he can take substantial credit.

Bad year for me - Mark Hollis, Scott Walker and now Neil Innes.
