08 Just Dance - iconic, but a bit basic after all these years
11 Poker Face - still crystalline perfection. Those opening murmurs still do the trick.
10 Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) - candyfloss perfection that seemed to be cannibalized by the monstrous, dark megalomania to come over the ensuing years
10 LoveGame - the song that levelled up a generation of slut bottoms born around 1990
03 Chillin' (with Wale)
11 Paparazzi - the best song on her debut, and one of the most important turning points in her career
11 Bad Romance - "I want your disease". The relevance.
09 Video Phone (with Beyoncé) -
10 Telephone
10 Alejandro
10 Dance in the Dark - god this run was just sublime
16 Born This Way - the most important song of her career, and is it me, or did snotty gays get over themselves post 2016 and embrace what was always a utter ode to joy?
09 Judas - a betrayal at what should have been the apogée of her Imperial era, but the start of her messy bottom phase
10 The Edge of Glory - the real standard in her back cat pre-Shallow. I wait for the day that this resurges properly. It should have been #1 for months.
08 Hair - the production still slaps, but those lyrics. Girl.
10 You & I - I stan her honky tonk ballads so much these days. I can't wait for her to cancel a tour age 60 which consists of her hammering this kind of shit out at the piano.
10 Marry The Night - the last minute is absolutely manic. Both song and video. The shot of her trying to get into the car, all the while encumbered by an oversized hat sums up the Born This Way era. Too many ideas for us to handle.
10 Scheiße - always a bop, but the moment her Coachella intro segued into this, I screamed.
00 The Lady is a Tramp - hate all the Tony shit, as much as it was probably necessary for her.
13 Applause - fuck me, this was THE best Gaga era as far as I'm concerned. Insane looks. Insane hooks. The online antics. The sound of a world falling apart to early 2010s EDM.
13 Venus - one of the many choruses can sit proudly alongside most of ABBA Gold
13 Do What U Want - the duet partner was... unfortunate, but the song itself is beyond reproach
06 Dope - I have to be in the mood for it. The vocals are a choice. I think I prefer the sappy demo "I Wanna Be With You"
09 G.U.Y. - the wrong single. With everything falling apart at this point, she should have gone with Artpop (the best song, and she did many a great performance of it) or Gypsy (not that it would have been a hit, but it could have edged its way more forcefully into her canon)
00 Anything Goes
00 Til It Happens To You - even I was getting tired of her by this point
09 Perfect Illusion - I love this frenetic shriek-fest. The fact that it coincided with the end of my relationship of 5 years was quite opportune.
10 Million Reasons - the little hit that could. The start of an upward trajectory
10 John Wayne - the video gave me hope that the Gags of old was just resting
09 The Cure - a cute R&B-lite curio
10 Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Going?) - lovely, and the piano-only version is much nicer than the album version
07 Your Song - serviceable
09 I Want Your Love (with Nile Rogers) - much more fun. I love the Bad Romance references.
10 Shallow - apparently now her biggest song ever
10 Always Remember Us This Way - lovely
07 I'll Never Love Again - she was hoping it would be her I Will Always Love You, but no.
10 Stupid Love - I'm ready for more

I mean, this rate turned out to be even more LUNAR than I expected :disco:

some of the scoring makes so much more sense when you consider it was rated on a scale of 8-13.

She had it for a while around 2009-2010, then she lost it when she started making these awful songs on Born This Way about being a rebellious young kid in New York. She sounded like an embarrassing aunt who was trying to impress a gay child.

ARTPOP was also a terrible album, but I liked the songs she did for the movie :)

I realized that I lost pretty much all interest in Lady Gaga after Artpop. I didn't really bother to listen to a lot of the later tracks.

07 Just Dance
07 Poker Face (used to be a 10, but this really suffered from overplay for me)
04 Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)
06 LoveGame
?? Chillin' (with Wale)
10 Paparazzi
10 Bad Romance
?? Video Phone (with Beyoncé) - I have no recollection of this AT ALL

10 Applause
03 Venus - I don't get this, it sounds ugly to me
08 Do What U Want
?? Dope
06 G.U.Y.
?? Anything Goes
?? Til It Happens To You - I think I listened to this once, I can't remember it at all.
01 Perfect Illusion - Fucking shit
?? Million Reasons - Same as Till It Happens
?? John Wayne
04 The Cure
?? Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Going?)
?? Your Song
?? I Want Your Love (with Nile Rogers)
04 Shallow - I guess this isn't too bad when it comes on, but I'd never actively seek it out
?? Always Remember Us This Way
00 I'll Never Love Again
03 Stupid Love

Loving the low scores for Shallow. SOME QUEENS have made me believe that I’m the only one who doesn’t like it.

Babe, didn't you claim you "hadn't heard" Shallow just before Stupid Love leaked? I guess OTHER QUEENS really aren't tired of trying to fill that void.

Besides, we all know Shallow was for the straights. And I'm here for her coming for the non-pink pound if it allows her to finance her Pink Power Ranger fantasy for us today.

I heard it when that woman sang it and it became a meme and it made me realize that I’ve heard Gaga’s shouty version in supermarkets.

God I googled I Want Your Love hoping it would be a disco-stomping cover and it's just some LIMP Tom Ford shit. DISAPPOINT.

god BTW really is my least fave album, some horrid tracks there :zombie: and I haven't even heard JUANA in its entirety but I don't feel I need to!

My album rank:

1. ARTPOP - yes, there's some utter dreck (Swine? Donatella? You spared these over Brooklyn Nights and Ratchet? Really bitch?) but the cocaine & MDMA-induced highs just cannot be denied. When you touch me I die, indeed.
2. Born This Way - somehow, too big to fail. The industrial sonic infrastructure that underpins the whole thing, combined with the stadium-scale anthems, and the excessive marketing budget, make this some kind of insane juggernaut which can somehow never be repeated
3. The Fame Monster - crystalline perfection, but beyond the singles (and Dance In The Dark), I rarely indulge
4. Me. I Am Joanne... The All-American Girl - I think it's a superb album actually. Some of her best songwriting in Sinner's Prayer, Angel Down, Million Reasons, Diamond Heart. It just lacks the 13/10 moments every other Gaga album has in abundance. The Florence duet is horrid, however.
5. The Fame - this was life back in 08-09, but it's extremely singles-heavy (including Starstruck)

I will NOT tolerate any Born This Way slamming. It is her best album and it IS the album of the last decade. Fuck you.

fuck you too hun

1. Artpop
2. The Fame
3. The Fame Monster
4. Born This Way - because let's be frank it does include some superb tracks and some all-time career highs but goodness me 17 tracks just screams bloated a la janft. Sure Born This Way (the song) had to be the lead single, I've warmed to it because it's more of a statement rather than a song but the awful production + casio backing track combined are kind of a let down...just NO. Swap Marry The Night & Edge Of Glory for Scheibe and Heavy Metal Lover and, a singles run.
5. Joanne
6. Cheek 2 Cheek - seriously, who?

This is by far the greatest thing I have read on the internet today :disco:

07 Just Dance - still gutted she doesn’t say “drunk...on RED WINE!” during the intro
08 Poker Face - Obviously great, but never a PERSONAL favourite
07 Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) - I imagine this is big with the Real Housewives of New Jersey and NOT MANY OTHERS
07 LoveGame - Her most BASIC BITCH single. Still fuming Boys Boys Boys didn’t get the nod instead
02 Chillin' (with Wale) - Oh as if I GIVE A SHIT
11 Paparazzi - Where the art really started to pop :disco: Mournful, melodic and the ridiculous live performances deserve MORE CREDIT :argh:
13 Bad Romance - I’m at the point where I’ve realised she will never better this
04 Video Phone (with Beyoncé) - Let’s be honest, this was SHIT
10 Telephone - Probably her most popular back-cat moment with the general public these days due to THAT VIDEO and Beyonce. Weird she seems to hate it.
09 Alejandro - I admire her gall in creating a WINTER VIDEO for her most Summer-y song. If it was between the two, I would have preferred DITD to be full proper single though.
13 Dance in the Dark - Pretty much HER BEST SONG :disco: She was in her imperial era! Why was this not a proper single? Absolute madness.
02 Born This Way - Don’t think I’ve knowingly listened to it outside it’s first week of release and that X Factor audition with the 2 gays
08 Judas - Points here are almost for the video ENTIRELY. I STILL REMEMBER the disappointment I felt listening to the first leak of this.
10 The Edge of Glory - RIPE for rediscovery. I actually love the video, it will have its time again i’m sure.
01 Hair - One point for that ridiculous Paul O Grady perf in the bald cap :D
00 You & I - HONK OFF!
10 Marry The Night - One of my Gaga faves. It deserved a streamlined video, and that BBC performance to be the X Factor one :bad:
13 Scheiße - IMAGINE if she had released a song called SHIT as her lead single :disco:
28 The Lady is a Tramp - Cheek to Cheek is the best work of her career :)
06 Applause - points here almost entirely for that BATSHIT Wizard Of Oz US Breakfast Show (?) performance. WHAT was our Joanne on :D
05 Venus - Is this MEANT to sound like a parody of a Gaga song
10 Do What U Want - actually a hot slut track of choice that I will never forget no matter how hard JO tries to erase it :disco: R Kelly can do what he wants with ME! :disco:
00 Dope - HONK OFF!
08 G.U.Y. - This really was a JUMP THE SHARK moment :D when she becomes a Minecraft character in the video I lose it.
00 Anything Goes - no it doesn’t
00 Til It Happens To You
05 Perfect Illusion - would be vastly improved if she could pronounce the word LOVE properly.
10 Million Reasons - Beautiful, stunning, gorgeous. THANK GOD she had this is her pocket
03 John Wayne - TBH a shit song tarted up with a hot video :disco: JUSTICE 4 DANCING IN CIRCLES AND OR ANGEL DOWN
08 The Cure - A cute and complete forgotten moment
07 Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Going?)
Your Song - when she tries to make her Nan CARE about this song in her documentary :disco: Why was her Nan’s flat so pokey and small?
?? I Want Your Love (with Nile Rogers)
10 Shallow - the song she will be remembered for in 100 years time LETS BE HONEST GAYS
07 Always Remember Us This Way - I’ve actually never been that keen, Is That Alright is FAR SUPERIOR in my opinion
10 I'll Never Love Again - they really should have given this a CHRISTMAS PUSH! A bit of holly and some sleigh bells would have done WONDERS!
08 Stupid Love - sometimes a basic bit of tat is all the world needs :disco: + it got decent first week chart positions so Gags is a flop no longer :disco:

I feel like I’ve had a NIGHT OUT WITH THE BOYS after that :D
