Episode 1 of this BBC political thriller (with a divinely sultry acid jazz soundtrack) was REALLY good. Hugh Laurie is a Tory minister and master of spin who's just won a defamation court case, Helen McCrory (:disco:) is a literal homosexual dream as the manipulative PM, and the story so far is full of twists and turns and secret allegiances that reveal themselves in a nice timely fashion.

the casting is highly on point. Thoroughly recommend.

The first episode was brilliant. The final scene with the Prime Minster and him was actually delicious tv to watch. I was gripped.

Really enjoyed the first episode. I do wonder if they’ve maybe crammed in one secret plot/allegiance too many as it’s teetering on the edge of feeling contrived but I do hope I’m proved wrong.

Excellent performances from Laurie and McCrory.

this was so good in the end. I love a show that's unafraid to KILL A LEAD CHARACTER halfway through. that's a very British edgy TV drama thing to do.

hoping for a second season 2 (with Dame Helen slumming it on the backbenches) - it was clearly set up for one

Hugh Laurie and Helen McCrory were marvellous in this.

The daughter was annoying. Quite fancy Iain De Caestecker.
