Sally Shapiro

I love this album. Better than the first one I'd say, certainly more polished. Looking At The Stars is my current fave.

just popping in to post one of the most beautiful videos i've seen - it's for miracle

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CGhy7gzJgDo&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CGhy7gzJgDo&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

did no one love this album then? :( it got quite middling reviews, but this was of course because people keep comparing it to the debut

anyway i've been listening to moonlight fantasy quite a bit lately and i keep thinking it's annie only realizing it's sally midway through

10 Swimming Through the Blue Lagoon
08 Looking at the Stars
09 Love in July
10 My Fantasy
07 Let It Show
08 Moonlight Dance
10 Save Your Love
09 Dying in Africa
10 Miracle

miracle is beyond any doubt one of the very finest songs of the year, it breaks my heart everytime and the video is truly gorgeous

Another new song from the album. I was so over Sally after 'What Can I Do' but I'm right back on board with this now. :disco:

the new album is OUT OUT OUT

first reports suggest it's as LOVESOME AS EVER

I've just been giving the album a spin and as expected, it is FABULOUS :disco:

'This City's Local Italo Disco DJ Has A Crush On Me' is a particular highlight round chez WtG.

i think my favourite so far is if it doesn' rain along with what can i do - i know that you didn't really like the latter but i find that it's a nice progression of their sound and very pretty in a quaint way

anyway, did we know starman has a rather douchey video? neither did i

What Can I Do has really grown on me in the last few weeks. It works well on the album but on its own it sounds way beyond twee.

QUITE EPIC

I wonder if Johnny is involved with production at all? I'm taking the Autumn album release with the usual IDIB pinch of salt.

I put the album on before I went to bed last night. I was tired so it washed over me a bit, but i have ordered the CD (with bonus tracks!) anyway.

Giving the album a whirl now.

'Forget About You' sees Sally abandon Valerie Dore in favour of the PATSY BARET experience. :disco:

I do wish I’d been aware of that delicious Patsy Baret reading in my confrontational and crowd-alienating DJ DAYS :disco:

The Angie Care version is equally MORBID but at least you can more or less work out what she’s singing. Well I SAY SINGING…

not listened properly but it seemed perfectly serviceable on my drive-through with some proper highlights.

i mean i did not know they did old-school kylie bangers now.

They are not hanging about with a remix album, out 1st April. This one sounds pretty much exactly how you would expect Sally Shapiro to sound through a Johnny Jewel filter:
