Steve Wright DEAD

I'm trying to resist saying anything mean. So...

I used to enjoy his Radio 1 breakfast show in the 1990s, when I was a teenager :)

Mr L couldn't stand him, but likes Tony Blackburn. Make it make sense.

I was shocked to hear Blackburn on the radio the other day. He must be at least 80.

Mind you Whispering Bob Harris is still going and I was pretty sure he'd died in about 2004.

That's out of nowhere, isn't it? Was he known to be ill?

His afternoon show was genuinely huge and it was pioneering too, in terms of a certain style of broadcasting. Chris Evans completely ripped him off.

Well he was down to be the one of the new BBC radio stations, so it sounds rather sudden. That and the reactions from Cox and Vine suggest it was a big shock.
So he was, I had forgotten that, having pretty much let out a loud raspberry at the Beeb's plans.

They're playing his favourite songs on Radio 2. Most of it is half decent MOR, but credit due to Alcazar being included.

He's outlived by the second most famous Steve Wright
