I've come to quite enjoy Taylor Swift in the way I enjoy Tracey Flick in Election. She's transparently manipulative, plays the victim better than she plays guitar, and clearly keeps Lena Dunham around to fend off criticism of her all-supermodel girl squad, but that's sort of charming, and plus she has made some great music the past few times around (aside from a few unlistenable singles).
I also resent that the world turned on her because of Kanye West and that shiny mannequin he carries with him.

I really like her, in fairness. I don't really follow anything besides the music, but that's been consistently good enough for me to be relatively excited about a new album.
However, it DOES feel like a lot of people are jumping on the anti-TS bandwagon from the snippets of general conversation I've heard lately. I'm not quite sure whether she's deserving of it, but it will be interesting to see whether there's a proper backlash this time around.
