The BBC’s 100 greatest TV series of the 21st Century

I liked the first two season (and I’m one of the few who enjoyed the second season twist). Season 3 started with promise but absolutely shit the bed in the end. Also Aaron Paul was a terrible addition.

He was. He's been pretty useless generally outside of his great performance in Breaking Bad.

1 The Wire (2002-2008)
2 Mad Men (2007-2015)
3 Breaking Bad (2008-2013)
4 Fleabag (2016-2019)
5 Game of Thrones (2011-2019)
9 The Office (UK) (2001-2003)
10 Succession (2018-)
12 Six Feet Under (2001-2005)
18 Deadwood (2004-2006)
19 Lost (2004-2010)
20 The Thick of It (2005-2012)
21 Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000-)

84= Narcos (2015-2017)
87 The Comeback (2005-2014)
91 Westworld (2016-)
93 Treme (2010-2013)
100 The Queen's Gambit (2020)

Most of my favourites there. I didn't understand why Sopranos and West Wing were missing and then realised they have to have started in 2000+

My Top Ten (which is really fucking difficult) would be

1. The Wire
2. Game Of Thrones (unlike S6 of Lost, S8 of GoT doesn't dampen an incredible show overall for me. It's too good.)
3. Arrested Development
4. Veep
5. The Comeback
6. Mad Men
7. The Thick Of It
8. The Handmaids Tale
9. Fargo
10. Battlestar Galactica

Special mention to House of Cards and Band Of Brothers. And Fleabag, and Girls. Ugh just too many great shows!

I’ve rewatched Lost recently. The last season is actually quite good, the show had problems but I never agreed that the ending was it.

Oh God I did. I've never been so pissed off with a TV show :D maybe I should give it another go

It wasn't just the ending, it was the fact that when it ended they failed to wrap up so many sub plots that we were expected to get massively invested in in earlier seasons. It felt like a total con.

I haven’t rewatched Lost, but I always thought the show got better with each season and I loved the final one.

Game of Thrones on the other hand :zombie:, everything that came after the dragons started travelling in the speed of light ruined the show for me.
