Title too long for Moopy.

Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice President Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan.

Coming to Prime Video before the election!

EXCLUSIVE: Amazon Studios has acquired worldwide rights to the sequel of the 2006 film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. The film, which stars Sacha Baron Cohen in the title role once again, will premiere late October on Amazon Prime and its subscribers in 240 countries and territories.

The Borat sequel was the first movie made during the COVID-19 shutdown, shot surreptitiously as quickly as coronavirus shooting restrictions were eased, and unions were in agreement on a return to shooting. When that happened, Baron Cohen and his team were filming the movie the next day with a minimal crew.

Baron Cohen and cohorts flew to various parts of the U.S. and internationally to shoot the film. As he did on the first Borat, the follow-up film Brüno, and his Showtime summer series Who Is America, Baron Cohen risked his life multiple times to shoot the scenes in this film. Indeed, I’m told by sources that he had to wear a bulletproof vest on two different shooting days and on many days, there were risky and dangerous scenarios in shooting. Baron Cohen managed to do a good job keeping the film under wraps, though word of it has leaked a bit after it wrapped and CAA Media Finance showed it to buyers and set the distribution deal.

Baron Cohen rushed to have the film ready to open before Election Day. The first film was a big success, grossing $262 million worldwide for Fox. Given the fact that that studio was swallowed by Disney, and theatrical releases are more perilous than ever in the pandemic, they decided the best way for the movie to be seen by its widest audience before Election Day was to open on Amazon Prime before the end of October. So it will be on Prime that Baron Cohen does what he has turned into a singular art form: going undercover to get people to reveal their true selves and their often unflattering biases, with only the slightest provocation.

I suppose I wasn't asking for it but if he's going for Pence and his ilk, I'm all for it

The first one is fucking brilliant, but I'm curious how this one will work - surely everyone will know it's fake this time?

I think I read somewhere he may either be playing other characters as well OR playing Borat playing other characters.

We saw that clip of him performing at a far-right festival a while back, when people started to cotton on. Assume that's part of this, and he wasn't Borat then...

IS NICE :emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_rolling_eyes:

Poor Isla Fisher, who I've decided is the Hollywood Nikki Grahame.

I'll watch this at some point. Surely the way to have gone would have been Netflix.

Sorry, I chucked a couple of times at that, no matter how scripted it’s bound to be.

being called REVENGE PORN by certain commentators

if this ends Rudy's "career" as part-time talking head for any and all documentaries about politics/Trump/New York and full-time Presidential rimmer then I expect everyone who sneered at the concept of a Borat sequel to TAKE IT BACK and maybe we can also arrange some kind of Baron Cohen knighthood for services to HUMAN KIND.

Finished now. It’s easy to see which scenes are staged with actors (most of it) and which are not, which is only about 3 scenes total. Kudos to Maria Bakalova who is the real star here, so expressive and really very funny.

Giuliani is a DIRTY OLD MAN.

Yes the daughter definitely was the star, and the whole baby thing was amazing :D
Oh she was brilliant ! I hope she gets some more (international) work off the back of it. Enjoyed the film way more than expected to.

People have raised $50k+ for LOVELY Jeanise, the woman who babysat the daughter in the film, after she said she felt "betrayed" by it.

Do we seriously believe her bits weren't scripted? She seriously thought the girl was chained up and drank out of a dog bowl and didn't think to call the police? :goodgrief:

And the crystal clear camera footage in her car at ALL ANGLES?

Here's her post:

Thank you to all who have reached out to me from here in OKC to around the entire world! Yes it was me in the Borat movie. I was recruited to be in a "Documentary". At ABSOLUTELY NO time did I know this was a satirical comedy movie and that I was being "setup" so to speak. It's all good I just did what my Mother Ozell Smith (RIP) taught me to do from as far back as I remember.
Again, thank you to all and to God be the glory for it all.

More comments from OUR JEANISE

“I’m feeling like she’s from the Third World and that kind of stuff does happen where they sell women,” Jones told the New York Post. “I’m thinking this is for real, so I felt kind of betrayed by it.”

Bakalova, whom Cohen is pitching for an Oscar nomination, went full method, it seems. The Bulgarian actress, 24, was with Jones at a house the crew was using for more than an hour, she said.

“The people in that house had a goldfish tank and she wanted to eat one. She was good,” Jones told Showbiz411. “She said women in her country didn’t sit in cars, didn’t go to school or have jobs. She was also wearing horse blinders, she said, to keep her focused. I finally convinced her to take those off.”

Jones, who was recruited for the movie at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, was paid $600 for that scene, she said. She told Showbiz411 that she was later paid an additional $3,000 for a second scene. Borat returned to ask her if she would be his “Black American wife.” “No, I will not,” Jones answered.

HUMMM...

Is it wrong of me to think that in a place that can be as insular as the US and especially Texas, that perhaps there really are people that think that way about "the far away third world"? And maybe she was told the "documentary" was to highlight it, hence her reason for going along with it and not getting any higher powers involved. I can probably just about buy that...

I'm not REALLY convinced though.
