Out today on VoD, everyone is raving about the performances

For a prestige movie about Alzheimer’s they’re really missing the point with the posters

This wasn’t as depressing as I expected. It is sad but not devastating as something like Amour. Anthony Hopkins is great, it very much reminded me of my grandpa and his dementia.

The only bit that didn’t work was the last scene which felt a bit too hammy.

Very HAUNTING. My heart sank a little when halfway through the film he said thank you to his daughter for everything she had done. My grandad had little moments like that during his 7-8 years of Alzheimer and they were HEARTBREAKING.

Hopkins was beyond incredible but Olivia Colman was also solid, she can bring in the drama chops when she needs to, truly a VERS queen. Even Mark Gatiss was well cast as a smarmy cunt :eyes:
