A friend has seen it and says it's amazing. But then the early birds always say that. Apparently the tone is quite different and Bale is next level.

I'm waiting for Disney Plus as I'm on a self-imposed Waititi ban in the wake of ORA.

Imagine what a mess Wakanda Forever is going to be.
It already sounds like a total car crash.

Anyway, critics loved Ragnarok, it's one of the best reviewed Marvel films and it appears not to live up to that.

It won't matter a jot, it'll probably still be a huge success.

It was ok, without the over arching story it feels like a shrug.

another man with a precocious child. They really need another trick. The whole section with Zeus get unnecessary apart from setting up Hercules.

I like Natalie but the zany parts didn’t work. The last fight was cool but at total odds with the tone of the movie.

Christian Bale was the highlight. He was hamming it to the high heavens.

Quite entertaining in places, even if it felt fairly rushed at times. I'd have liked to have seen more of the Guardian's.

Not awful, but the overall story wasn’t that great. Amazing mid-credits cameo (well for me anyway) and Russell Crowe as Zeus was a big highlight.

A hell of a lot of royalties for Guns N Roses coming their way.

the hardcore MCU fan who was standing next me and chatting had no idea who he was.

But then again he was a cunt who as we’re waiting for the second credit scene proceeded to tell me (a stranger) about how they actually didn’t fire Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 and how much he hates her and how false allegations can ruin good men like Johnny Depp.

All this was unprompted. He just decided he wanted to share this with me.

The line from Korg about Thor not skipping leg day when he was summarising what happened between Endgame and this raised a laugh in the screening after that photo emerged of Chris with skinny legs.

I thought this was great fun. I didn't love it quite as much as Ragnarok (Natalie you know I love you dear but you're NO CATE BLANCHETT), but it's easily my favourite standalone Marvel since that one. I was happy to see the "Thor will Return" message at the end, and I hope it's another one with Taika.

Thor remains my favourite of the Marvel GANG, and here I found it refreshing how relatively slight the story was, and how it didn't have the usual (for Marvel) 20-40 minutes towards the end where I zone out completely because it's descended into CGI-battle slurry. I also enjoyed Russell Crowe more than I ever have in anything else, and Bale's villain felt like a cut above all the other boring man villains we've seen in these films. And the goats made me laugh every time they screamed.

I was happy enough with the crumbs of representation for the gays, but the next time Valkyrie's on screen she'd better have some sort of love interest (ideally an 18 stone bull dyke) because that did feel like lip service here. And even though it was hetero, I found the love story between Thor and Mrs Thor really sweetly done.

I didn't care for the black and white bit, and the first half was definitely stronger than the second.

I genuinely think this is one of the worst films I have ever seen, and I generally enjoy Taika Waititi
