What appalling figures. You know things are bad when Casualty makes it in to the chart.

Was it good two weeks ago? Genuinely don't remember. Figures do generally slip in the summer though. And there usually is less good stuff on the main channels.

I am really surprised Casualty is still running with those figures to be honest. I suppose Eastenders isn’t that far behind it in terms of viewership.

TV is really bad at this time of year (Love Island aside). Saturday night is especially bad. How I miss the autumn/winter schedule.

No complete ITV (or ITV2) figures yet, so I'll hold off posting to see if they update tomorrow.

Sorry @Rita but the complete figures for ITV haven't been published on BARB at all, so the chart above is without four screen viewing which Love Island consistently performs very well on. The chart above is without it for ALL channels though, so at least it's a level playing field. I'm sure it would be comfortably above 4m and at least a couple of places higher if full figures were available.

I assume EastEnders suffered from losing BBC1 due to Wimbledon. As figures for BBC are complete I can see that it had 2.629m, but as I said above I've omitted all non TV viewing just so the figures we do have are compared on the same basis.

And I think that was the lowest figure for Great British Sewing Bee, despite being the final. And like EastEnders, that was shunted to BBC2 as well.

Good GOD those figures are TERRIBLE. Emmerdale looks like it has shaved a couple of million viewers rather quickly, unless it was on the same time as Wimbledon?

OMG LOVE ISLAND WAS ALMOST NUMBER ONE.

faint-omg.gif

I think that is the highest I have ever saw it placed on the ratings chart.

In news sure to please SOME PEOPLE here though, that chart doesn't tell the full story. Coronation Street did have the highest average, but the highest individual show of the week was the episode of Love Island on Thursday 7th August, with 5.299m viewers.

And by 'August' I of course mean 'July'.

Was that a special episode or anything? Only it was some some way ahead of the others, and the others were all very similar.

I think you posted something previously saying that the return from Casa Amor episode was the highest episode of the season.

Was that the Thursday before last?

Was that the Thursday before last?

I had to google it as I didn’t think it was that long ago, but yes they returned on 30th June so it was the girls returning from Casa Amor episode.

And I may regret asking thus, but is there a reason why that episode is significant? Just wondering why that episode got considerably more.

The girls went to another villa named Casa Amor and the boys stayed at the original villa. New boys go in to Casa Amor with the girls and new girls go in to the original villa with the boys. As they are all “coupled up” beforehand the aim is generally to try and get them to stray. On Thursday 30th June the girls come back and they can either come back alone looking to stay in their initial couple or come back with someone else. The same with the boys.

Thats great for Love Island, but the top of the chart getting 4/5 million viewers is quite sad

Same as last week - the top individual show of the week was an episode of Love Island (this time Sunday) but it has a lower average overall.

Did anyone watch The Control Room? I think I may delve in this evening.

Comparing the figures this week to those three years ago for the soaps

Coronation St down 1.457m (23%)
Emmerdale down 1.302m (23%)
EastEnders down 1.686m (36%)

Neighbours had an average of 1.207m. It will be interesting to see how that increases over the next couple of weeks.

That figure of 1.207m is the total of the two daily broadcasts, amd would put it at #3 in the Channel 5 chart.

13 BBC News at Ten 2.636m
14 ITV Evening News 2.523m
15 Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams 2.429m
16 The Chase 2.405m
17 Women's Euro 2022: France vs Netherlands 2.403m
18 Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow 2.285m

I can't go below #18 due to not have full data below #50 for the BBC below the overall top 50. Looks like whatever is #19 and #20 are both below 2m though, which is a first. Still, I think this was the week of the very hot weather, wasn't it?

Climbed to an average of 1.383m for the week above - so the penultimate week.

That's a grim chart if sport or news isn't your thing.

Obviously I've only included the figure for the last Neighbours episode.

It’s lovely to see it in the chart regardless.

Excluding the finale, the the last week of Neighbours had an average 1.834m

That really is an impressive figure in itself, given the context.

Great to see the finale in the top 10.
