Finally just seen this after wanting to see it last year at the LFF.

It is absolutely DREADFUL and at times unwatchable with a pointless weird narration by Willem Dafoe, over several unwatchable scenes of strobe lighting. I knew it underperformed and had had mixed reviews, but I haven't found a review yet that describes how poor this is.

The final 12 minute sequence of Natalie Portman's bad Lady Gaga tribute act (seriously I think I can sing and dance better than she can) is completely pointless with no pay off, not to mention the terrible actress playing her younger self for possibly the first third of the film, who has almost no resemblance in voice or character to her older self at all. I don't think Natalie Portman even read the script to that part of the film to get the character even remotely similar.

It doesn't seem to know what it wants to say about anything.

I’m still agog months after seeing it. That truly bizarre twist at the end.

Sia shat out some proper bangers for the soundtrack though.

I’m just remembering the UTTERLY INSANE diner sequence and SCREAMING!

I thought all of the songs were complete rubbish. A bit like something you could have made using the Music Maker game on the original PlayStation.
