What Are You Watching? 2022

Hmmm is she lip synching to a pre-recorded vocal? :eyes:

I think you may be right. She blew a kiss at the end of Chain Reaction whilst she was still supposed to be singing, but this definitely seems live?

I also don’t know if she IS miming which to me says she isn’t doing it all that badly IF she is.

This doesn't bode well for the tour if she's being helped on to stage and miming poorly to a pre recorded vocal.
As long as she has at least 4 different sparkly dresses and a selection of fur wraps, 95% of the audience will leave happy.

She isn’t miming! She was just mega off key there so I wouldn’t worry. :D

The Bridge on Channel 4, now with added AJ Odudu. They definitely got a budget increase if nothing else.

Everything I Know About Love. The start was not at all promising, the character called 'Street' is about as insufferable as the name suggests, and the programme is in general quite a lot. At the same time it is not unenjoyable, there are some amusing moments and I am obviously going to watch it all.

Road to Salina (1970). Notable for being the penultimate big screen appearance of Rita Hayworth, this has a minor cult following and is a subdued psychological thriller of sorts (I prefer to think of it as a late night Place In The Sun when the cameras stopped rolling, but maybe that's just me). Had no idea it was released on DVD, so have just finished and will get cracking on the commentary (!) later - really looking forward to this. To think it all began when listening to an old favourite album wondering what film it could be a soundtrack to. Hayworth does a fine job even if it's almost disquietingly close to her real life distress that was already closing in on her. What has really surprised me is that this is the first time I have thought how much the male lead looks like Fred Astaire (her co-star in the films You'll Never Get Rich and You Were Never Lovelier, the pictures she cited as her favourites). Obviously the dead bodies are down in that drain.

I’m loving shots of AJ looking fab while looking down on them all.

Having the two teams certainly gives a bit more to it this time around.

Anyone watching LGBT+ Hits At the BBC, currently on BBC2? Dana International on The National Lottery Big Ticket AS WE SPEAK :disco:

This is my house, love it. Judi Love AND Harry Hill in episode 1 of new series :disco:

Slowly dipping into Kath and Kim. I'm onto episode 8 of series 2. I don't actually think I made it this far first time around.

Gonna try the new C4 drama starting tomorrow with James Nesbitt and Joely Richardson and loads of others...'Suspect' think @Rita may like this one

Oh yes, I have series linked it already. Sam Heughan is in it (:horny:) and I haven’t watched him in anything outside Outlander and I think he may well be the reason I have stuck with that for so long.

Susan hayward in I want to Live (1958). great scene where she comes out to the press and police with the soft toy. I'll put some Grace and Naomi on later.

Since it's still on, I'll continue. I also watched Caged (1950) again. You can totally see the character Bette Davis would have been offered and I guess Crawford would have been offered her rival. Both are not big parts and Davis would have been upstaged by the 6'2" bent matron. What a film though.

Yield to the Night (1956). Diana Dors behind bars. A surprising competent turn. I've a few more films set aside to continue the theme, but annoyingly the film I own and really wanted to watch (Flamingo Road with Joan Crawford) I cannot find yet.

I have it in the "Joan Crawford Collection Volume 2". It seems to go for about £70 for some strange reason. I was going to just buy a cheap burned copy, but you really never know the quality you'll get.

I'm now watching Bette Davis play a widowed lawyer in her Perry Mason TV series episode guest appearance that aired in 1963 (now I just need to hunt out that non picked up pilot she filmed). She's already pleased me enough with "goodnight toughie" so whatever happens now is just a bonus.

I'm obviously known for my great taste in everything....and TV is no different.

Having finished Below Deck a few months ago, we have replaced it with Selling Sunsets. And it's one of the best things on TV :disco:

I loathe to sound overboard with things I like, but I really have been going at it and forgot to mention I watched Barbara Stanwyck in the mediocre Ladies They Talk About (1933). There is an imprisoned Madame who has an uncanny resemblance to a New York Drag Race contestant (forget the name, but they applied multiple times and may have won Miss Congenitality), which was the only reason I laughed a few times.

I want to try SS. Is it quite scripted or is bothering about that missing the point?

I've never bothered with scripted reality before watching it, but decided to give a go one night after a friend raved about it. It was the property porn that hooked me. At first, at least...

No it doesn't seem very scripted at the moment. I assume it is a bit. It's very addictive, not only are the cast entertaining but you also get to see ridiculously expensive houses.

Ha we were like that, only interested in the property...until the cast sucked us in. We're about to start series 3.
