I don't think VoR said anyone was racist so much as pointing out that it's a fairly well known trope which we'd probably be wise steering clear of!
 
Oh God, I was literally on the exact opposite side of a debate of this nature just last week in a Drag Race/Kandy Muse discussion. :D

I wasn't calling you a racist dUb, and I'm sorry if it came across that way. I just think it's a silly thing to criticise her for. The hashtag is in her video, it is very clearly part of her marketing campaign for this song. Her using it is absolutely no indication that she's 'conceited' - and even if she is, WHO CARES?

@wurst in your original post you said it was a silly, presumptious hashtag and that is an ABSOLUTELY FINE observation to make (IMO)

I just think it’s a bit naive to blame HER for it!

Riffing on the eccentricities of Eurovision and Melodifestivalen contestants is part of the make up of this forum, and I would have mentioned the hashtag whoever it was attached to.

Your posts made me view my mosts in a way I hadn't in any way intended when writing them, and I'd rather draw a line under them now if that is how they could be inferred.
 
I chose my words poorly - especially considering the debate I was involved in last week. I'm sorry - I'm honestly not trying to be the Moopy fun police!

I mean I know I change my opinions seemingly every hour but at this point I feel like it’s Malta’s to lose. Out of the faves this is seemingly the one most likely to unite both the juries and televoters. Switzerland and France MIGHT cancel each other out and might not get the televote PUSH, Lithuania and San Marino won’t do well enough with the juries, Greece’s staging seems like a HOT MESS and, although I like both, I can quite fathom why Bulgaria and Italy are faves.
 
Even though Last Dance has grown on me a lot lately I still see this as such an obvious winner.

Basically i had two things organised (thats ALL i could organise), a tour of Gozo and a morning tour of what I believe will be Valetta. So after lunchtime tomorrow i will have run out of things to do. The guide basically says all there is is what ive done on Gozo, Valetta and numerous identical churches, and beaches. I'm on my own, and the weather isnt even that great .. im surrounded by people who are only here to stay in the laughably (well not laughably) inept hotel and sit by the pool, because they know too that there is very little to do here.

Ive already finished one of my books and dammit, I WANT TO GO HOME. I dont really want to stay until Monday, Im starting my new job on Wednesday and would love the chance to just be back to normal. THIS just feels like im stuck somewhere, which is giving me the sort of feelings that make me want to not be stuck here.

There are plenty of things to do, if you like rocks, churches or resturants. I dont have a particular aversion to any of those, but I saw enough of the first two to do me fine yesterday. Theres only so many cliffs you can find interesting!

I suppose instead of reading on the balcony I can go and read on the beach, though there doesnt seem to be much in it..

So i asked for them to either move me to a sea view room, or refund me for the sea view extra cost, they said that the next day they think there is one available (today). So finally i manage to get a nice room and the fucking telly doesnt work, which is a problem because there is FUCK ALL TO DO IN MALTA

Destiny REALLY dodged a bullet with 2020 being cancelled didn't she?
Obviously this wouldn't have been the final performance, but I'd convinced myself last year that I loved All My Love (probably due to the WEAK FIELD it was part of), but in retrospect this would have been more likely a FLOP than HIT -



I'm borderline convinced she has it in the bag now, providing the televote doesn't totally screw her. And I think she'll be quite an iconic and memorable winner too.

Yeah she screamed 8th with a bullet last year. Top FIVE with the juries but a televote FLOP. I really do think she’s gonna WALK IT this year though as you said, albeit I’d rather go to say PARIS next year as opposed to VALLETTA (as Barbara is STILL the second favourite), unless the Eurotunnel build an extension within next twelve months.
 
Malta has nowhere to host this; the last time they hosted Junior Eurovision it was in a converted hospital ward. I think their best bet is repurposing some a shipyard building or something like Denmark 2014.
