I wasn’t sure how much mileage a new thread for this would have, but Måneskin have gone on hiatus as a band and Damiano brought this out on Friday.

To these ears it sounds like it really should be a huge international hit but I’d imagine he’ll have an uphill struggle to get it noticed outside the Måneskin fanbase.

EDIT: Well apparently there is a thread in this after all.

Yeah, I'm also getting "this should do well" vibes. It's a catchy, catchy pop song.

The middle-8 into the key change in the last minute is delicious.

I think that's GREAT.

He's got such star quality, it's nice to see him go all out in an attempt to be a big mainstream pop star. I hope it works, and he can fill the Harry Styles off years.

More music videos need more 1950s style dance stairs.

He's so damn handsome and clearly capable of crossing genres with ease.

It's not impossible this gets picked up in the UK.

It is definitely very Harry Styles with added bombast, good though. That is also as good as he has sounded singing in English.

That’s really rather great isn’t it? I can see this doing quite well if it can get some traction.

The thing is, if this is going to have any kind of shot (in the UK at least) then it would need to happen in the next few weeks before the chart gets flooded with Christmas songs for the whole of December.

yeah this is very Harry Styles meets The Killers. I think it's good but not wow and the middle 8 is uninspired. quite catchy but lyrically meh. a generous 7/10

Deploy the jingle bell remix.

Or become huge the moment they all disappear.

Even I like this and I dislike EVERYTHING (that's under the age of 30). Am a sucker for this kind of exuberant-yet-fatalistic pop which hits far too close to home. :( Lovely video, the Kelly et al. references are hella cute - and I don't even care for those old MGM musicals. Also that HAIR is so on point it hurts (it really does hurt as mine is a fucking disaster atm, gah)! I hope this does gangbusters for him and that I get to scoff at others about being vaguely ahead of the curve for once.

I'm starting to see it on a couple of UK Spotify playlists so perhaps it's getting traction? Deserved if so. He oozes charisma and really is impossibly good looking. The song is creeping up to my fave of this year as well. It's so instant and infectious even if you ignore him selling the fuck out of it. I do wonder what the rest of Måneskin make of it all. I saw someone on Twitter suggest they're all happy doing their own thing for the moment but it does stink a little of bit of abandonment (not that that's not allowed or anything!)

It reminds me of The Killers, which might sound like a slight but they're great actually.

The video is also very charming.
Yeah my instant reaction is that it reminds me of when Brandon Flowers went solo and went a bit more poppy glitzy (alongside also being impossibly attractive)

I sent this to my dad on Tuesday (for reasons even I’m not sure of). Still waiting for a response.

Launches into the US pop radio chart at #46 day from outside the top 50, so it’s showing early promise there.

Also on just shy of 3m on Spotify, which for six tracking days is signalling 500k a day there which is surely pretty good? Still think this has potential to take off, possibly even be the Hozier/Noah of this winter? Probably not as big, but I’d say it has a chance.
