What do you think of this sugary LEVANTINE DELIGHT?
Doesn't your MA live in Turkey?!I've never had it
Those pistachio baklava @RaspberrySwirl posted look INCREDIBLE
God has always sent his best things to humanity via the Levant; Moses, Jesus, Dana and Baklava.
Now before you all say you donāt like it or that you can only take one bite; baklava is a broad concept, there are tons of different types and ways to do it. (The one pictured in the first post is usually not that good.)
In general, Iād say the Turks do the best baklava, itās always perfectly sweet without being sickenning, and it doesnāt feel too fatty. And unless you dislike pistachio, you should always go for the pistachio baklava and not walnutā¦and what I think @Sheena means (and I agree) you should avoid those with rosewater.
My favourite baklava is the pistachio baklava where thereās pistachio in the dough as well.
I could never have enough of these ā¦. well, until I wasnāt allowed to eat anything with gluten.
The nesty ones third from left are my favouritesLove it but i what I adore most is the tiny variations that we call Beirut's sweets
RS is CORRECT. These are also my fave type of baklava, especially with a side of kaymak / slightly fermented cream. HEAVEN!
Not a fan of heather honey then?I like it if the honey used isnāt flowery honey, which makes me gag. I have to have a nibble of someone elseās before Iāll give it a go myself.
