It's absolutely one of the best pop songs ever. I've become obsessed with it again after a conversation with a new French colleague about French songs that were hits here and her being incredulous this was one of them as she thought it was rotten

I've made no apologies for liking that dreary Gaga album, just as you don't need to get upset over anyone questioning your looning for this average, overrated pop song.

Absolutely incredible, I still get the hairs on my neck stand up when I hear that first chorus. There is a dark undercurrent running throughout the song that makes it sound urgent and important, and as a debut single only "...Baby One More Time" is better to my ears. I remember when it made #9 in the UK and it felt such a glorious victory for great music - at a time when my homemade CDs with foreign language songs was poo-pooed by my English classmates.

There is a mix on the cd single that I will dig out later and upload to YouTube as I can't seem to find it anywhere and it's just glorious.

Having a French evening and this remains life-shatteringly INCREDIBLE.
Perhaps even more-so now I've rewatched the video with VERY different eyes in 2019 to how I first saw it in 2000 (?) (Why is the mother such a bitch?)

If LOL.LI.TA. counts as a proper middle 8 it's surely one of the greatest EVER

YouTube has also thrown up this performance, which judging by the comments and (nearly 70 million views) is getting straight men from around the globe VERY EXCITED
