Belinda Carlisle - Big, Big Love

This is out today, which was a nice surprise! I rather like it - it's very early 90s Belinda, and all the better for it.

Also: the EP “Kismet” is ready for preorder :D

This is so much better than the prospect of current day Diane Warren and that first orchestral performance suggested.

She sounds really good. They've captured something much closer to a classic sounding Belinda vocal than most of her latter day work.

The best part is right near the end when she is (too briefly) belting the title over the synthy post-chorus bit.

The EP art is kind of a psychedelic skin eating disease nightmare but it is preferable to the single.

Very, very good. That resplendent voice expressive as it ever was and she even goes full throttle near the end. I hope she gets huge roars for this from her audiences. 2:38 zombie eyes also a big big surprise.

this is decent, I was underwhelmed when I first spotified it, but it creeps up on you - A List at Radio 2 also I think

She looks lovely too - is she Madonna's age?

The EP is out today :disco:

Kismet

It’s a strong batch of songs, and such a tease that she’s such a lazy mare - I wish she’d given us a full album.

I forgot this was out so soon. It really is much better than I expected Belinda singing late period Diane Warren songs to be. If U Go leans in to the classic Belinda sound the most I think but I am also loving the quite ridiculous Sanity.

Sanity, oh sanity, why diii-id yooouu abandon me? :D:disco:
