And Seven of Nine was SO not the worst thing to happen to Voyager. Towards the end she was AMAZING... the episode when she was told she couldn't have a relationship because she'd die (or whatever the storyline was) was great.

GOD THE STORYLINES WERE SHIT :D

Voyager really was them trying to recreate TNG wasn't it? The only problem is that half the cast were irritating and most of the storylines were rehashed.

I DETESTED the end of Voyager. You watch the show for 7 years and it's "Oh we're home". THAT'S IT!

And the other half featured such nonsense as Mr Chocolately having dreams about being a boxer.

Year of Hell was good though.

The original but with The Next Generation second. TNG took several seasons to get going and Wesley was annoying.

I never bothered with the others.

Oh yes... the last five minutes were terrible. The whole episode was a bit POO really

Nothing like the kick in the cunt Enterprise fans* got in that finale.

*Whoever they may be

Oh and I think 7 of 9 was one of the best things to happen to Voyager. Yes she was a bit T&A but it was a complex character played VERY well.

One thing that annoyed me about Voyager was how things were invariably wrapped up by the end of the episode. Particularly Tuvix, if they'd just kept the characters merged for a couple of episodes the whole thing would have had much more impact.

Is anyone looking forward to JJ Abram's 'Star Trek'? I've never really been that big a fan of the movies apart from 'The Wrath Of Khan', 'The Undiscovered Country' and 'First Contact'. And since I was never really that big a fan of TOS and it's set in an earlier timeline of that show.

HERE WE GO :D

Ooh I LOVED First Contact, mostly thanks to crazy shouty Alfre Woodard.

"BLOW UP THE DAMN SHIP PICARD!"

"Well you'd better find a way to make it easy soldier, or I'm gonna start PUSHING BUTTONS!"

Oh! Riker and Troi! I would have watched that had I known.

What a pisstake though! :D So did the characters not exist in the first place?

There was a very short trailer for this at the cinema tonight. It lasted about five seconds and ended with 'OUT BOXING DAY 2008'. Yeah... thanks.

I hate the idea of the new film... fucking young Spock and Kirk and shit.

I'm not so much a fan of the mythology of Star Trek and although I remember watching a few episodes of the original series when I was really young, it was The Next Generation that got me into sci-fi in general...so the film doesn't really inspire much excitement.

I agree though that The Warth Of Khan is great as far as the films go.

First Contact is without doubt the best Star Trek film. It has ALL the best elements of Star Trek... a strong sci-fi storyline, a gilmse into our not so distant future, fighting, a great enemy and a really hot dude who sits in front of the captain and gets killed.

Oh I think the characters exisited in the Trek universe. It was just a big FUCK YOU to the studio for cancelling it.

To be fair though, I think Enterprise was an idea stretched too far. They really needed to take a break after Voyager but basically ended up destroying the franchise instead.

Oh YEAH!

Ageing can be many a terrible thing. Not to mention a bad hairdresser. And personal shopper.

I don't get how people can have pupils that size without being pissed 24/7.

Although that might explain the bad ageing.

LWAXANA TROI!

DEAD!

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, the widow of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, died today of leukemia at her home in Bel-Air at the age of 76. She went peacefully and was surrounded by her son Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry Jr and family friends.

Majel Barrett has appeared in every incarnation of the popular science fiction series and is sometimes referred to as “the First Lady of Star Trek”. In addition to appearing on screen in various different capacities, Majel also provided the voice of starship onboard computers for The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, most of the Star Trek films and computer games. Majel recently completed voice work for JJ Abrams‘ Star Trek., reprising her role as the voice of the Starship Enterprise computer.

I'm actually quite sad. Poor slutty Lwaxana!

Oh no!

She was brilliant. A good celebrity finally dies and there isn't a Sild thread in sight.

I knew that Majel Barrett was the voice of the computers but never realised that she was Lwaxana. I loved how she used to pick up Picard's naughty thoughts about her and then tell him off.

1) Voyager
2) The Next generation
3) Enterprise
4) The Original Series
5) DS9

Voyager, for me, is best because most of the characters actually work. 7 of 9 and Janeway's relationship, as cringeworthy as it is as points, is really well done I think. Though sometimes 7's attempts at being human, especially her humour are just brilliantly shit. The Doctor is also wonderful, in fact I dont dislike any member of the cast. There are some fantasticaly SHIT episodes though, like the ones set in Fairhaven and basically anyone where they use the old Star Trek stalwart of travelling back to the near past and taking the piss out of it. I literally could just go on and on and on about this show, its so damn fantastic. All that given, Endgame was utterly shit, they should have made it a 3 parter, or at least 2 1.5 hour shows.

The Next Generation is really good too, but the storylines were never as good as Voyager, a lot of it dragged and just about ever episode is the same. That being said any show with Gates Mcfadden and Marina Sirtis on the cast cant be all bad. Patrick Stewart is also surprisngly sexy for an OLD man. Wesley Crusher should have been killed ina freak accident with a replicator or something equally deserving such a piss poor excuse of a character.

Enterprise was pretty awful really. I especially liked how it was set 200 years before TNG/DS9/Voyager, yet nothing looked as shit as it did in TOST.

TOST, obviusly shit, but lovably so.

DS9, some of the worst TV ever, it managed to bleed dry any fun that could have been exacted from The Dominion War. The episode where they put Julian Bashir into the James Bond role is probably the best and thats for all the wrong reasons. The storylines where shit, the acting was shit, just about everything to do with it was shit.

Its IMPOSSIBLE to imagine Voyager without Kate Mulgrew, shes definitely my fave Star Trek captain, the character is great, but Kate MADE it.

Voyager and TNG are definitely more consistently watchable than DS9. There's some terribly boring episodes of the latter. But the overall story arc is FANTASTIC and the last few episodes are just amaze.
