Gay sex? How vulgar!

In this stunning book that I’m reading the biggest scandal so far is about this middle class girl being kissed (against her will) in a field of violets in Italy by an atheist/socialist nobody. :o le shock!

I think I can now call myself an E.M. Forster fan.

watch the film. lovely dick shots!

Loved that book so much

Currently reading No Country for Old Men and I think I might finish it today in a Sunday afternoon binge (soundtrack: Alanis and Lucinda )

@Phoenix I loved The Sandman so much I'm now reading the comic book and Nevermore simultaneously

Seriously how did it take me this long to get into Neil Gaiman? Tori connection - um hello?!

I know I'm late to the party and you GIRLS have been all over this for a couple of years, but I just finished the audiobook of this and I think it may have broken me. I normally listen to audiobooks on long journeys in the car, but finished this on a walk along the beach in streams of tears. Getting looks, GETTING LOOKS! :D The narrator was perfect. Definitely added to the whole experience for me.

The fact it's written in English by a non- native speaker makes the beauty of the prose even more beautiful. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

We just discussed this at our book club last night. Was my second go round. Still love it.

LOVED "Swimming In The Dark".

I always recommend "Lie With Me" too, very much in the same vein, also with an ending to ruin your afternoon (and translated by Molly Ringwald!)

Already in my list after you said something in an earlier thread.

Not sure why I keep doing this to myself to be honest. :D

Have you read this @Sheena ?

In West Berlin in 1989, eighteen-year-old Ralf has just left school and is living a final golden summer with his three best friends. They spend their days swimming, smoking and daydreaming about the future, oblivious to the storm gathering on the other side of the Berlin Wall.

But an unsettling discovery about his family and a meeting with the mysterious Oz shatters everything Ralf thought he knew about love and loyalty. And as old Cold War tensions begin to tear his life apart, he finds himself caught up in a web of deceit, forced to make impossible choices about his country, his family and his heart.

Try Blood Relatives by Stevan Alcock. Gay coming of age story set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire Ripper murders. All in Yorkshire dialect. :disco:

I have Blood Relatives ready to go already. I’ll download Cleanness.

I must do something that isn’t actually gay at some point soon :D
