I think people forget what Aswad were like when they started out. "Live And Direct" is a seriously heavy outing. I didn't grudge them commercial success tho'.

Yes I thought they had been around since the seventies, so he must have been very young when they started out.

Aswad's Don't Turn Around is comfortably my favourite. It really suits his voice and the record was one of those big hits from when I was getting into music as a kid.

They formed at school; first Aswad album is 1976 so he would have been 16/17. That's wild.
