France beats Italy for me by a WHISKER, although I could EASILY FLIP.

Netherlands is really ruined for me by the cheap production. It feels like it needs THE MAMAS on backing vocals to give it a really rousing gospel feel.

1. Italy - Not my favourite from Sanremo but there’s yer actual VA VA VOOM going on here :disco:
2. UK - DO ME BABY :horny:
3. France - It’s just a relatively bog-standard French song which could have been written at any point in the last 50 years (which certainly isn’t going to get the televotes from Brunhilda and Svetlana). Maybe this is the appeal and it isn’t like I don’t have a PENCHANT for this genre but I’m rather unexcited by this particular effort, even if they’ve done the right thing by singing in the tongue. BRING BACK THE REAL BARBARA
4. Germany - I thought this was sort of fun to begin with but I think it’s highly likely to irritate the viewer AND ME, with THAT SORT OF VOTE probably going in the direction of (shudder; pass me the sedatives would you Klemens) Iceland instead
5. Spain - NO
6. The Netherlands - I see that @Suomi adores it and I’m not one to be harsh so GOOD LUCK WITH THAT HOLLAND

I feel a bit bad for the Spanish song because there's nothing wrong with it and it's quite nice in places, it's just so unremarkable it'll absolutely get lost in the shuffle.

I agree, it's quite nice but I can't ever remember it. It's nowhere near as offensive as the Portuguese ballad though
