Kele from Bloc Party emerges from lockdown with a truly BEAUTIFUL new solo album that's had his best reviews in YEARS and YEARS. It's mainly him, a guitar and a loop pedal and all the better for it.
Bizarrely he chose a cover of Smalltown Boy as a single for the project, and his version is nice but the Orville Peck version that came out about 6 months ago just OBLITERATES KELE's by default. His own material on the album is much stronger.
Anyway, really worth a listen even if you haven't bothered since Bloc Party's second album like most people. It's all very So Here We Are.
