New movie from Alex Garland (Ex Machina & Annihilation) starring Moopy icon Jessie Buckley

The sequel already has a trailer

The trailer did nothing for me when I saw it at the cinema the other day, but I absolutely adored Ex Machina so I’ll gove it a chance.

I can't stand Rory Kinnear for some reason but it looks interesting so I might have to watch it anyway

Jessie Buckley elevates this to another level (makes it enjoyable). There’s good tension and effects but it does not give a toot about making sense.

After Cabaret and The Lost Daughter, it will be a long time before I will willingly a Jesse Buckley performance again.

Shame, because I quite like Garland on the whole.

It felt too meandering and the script thought it was more clever than it was. I felt it was a bit of a wasted opportunity. Like a short film forced to flesh out by an hour.

I did like the end “twist” though, the final lines got a chuckle out of me.

But not when they’re Paapa Essiedu :horny:

I did laugh at the difference between his arse and all the pasty white men :D
