As Aftonbladet is first to report the Swedish Church of London is going through harsh times. Not being able to sell beer and dillchips to Melfest fans has really hit them hard.

Now a young fan has started a go fund me campaign to possibly help the church avoid bankruptcy or perhaps get a backstage pass to the Sanctuary.

Go Fund me Campaign - Melodifestivalen 2021

The Swedish Church in Marylebone normally shows all the Melodifestivalen shows to an audience of gays and expat Swedes (and @Suomi and I storming out during horrifying qualifiers) each year and sells Swedish junk food/alcohol as a big part of its annual fundraising. Obviously lockdown has put a slight dampener on THAT revenue model

Oh no. When the Harcourt close?

EDIT: Ah there’s a link.

It looks like the new owners were due to reopen it in 2020, but it looks like a swanky gastropub now.

Nowadays the standard afterparty pub is The Chapel or The Royal Oak
