TV ratings thread

Amazes me how durable "Have I Got News For You" has been but then again, with the current state of things, the show is in its element.
Almost 30 years.

Just got trapped in a long running TV shows loop: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_longest-running_UK_television_series

What is the purpose of the Lord's Mayor Show being on TV in 2019?

Also I have never seen Silent Witness, despite is being on for TWENTY THREE YEARS.

I had totally forgotten What the Papers Say was ever a thing.

Also the Kypton Factor hasn't been on since 1995 and Rumpole of the Bailey since 1992.

OK there are the two rugby matches in there this week but will the X Factor still be in the top 20 in a few weeks?

X Factor fell 17% from week one to two, and a further 13% from week two to three. I guess it may level out, but surely it's unlikely it will increase. Factor in that viewing figures are on the increase generally now winter is approaching (4.3m to be #20 this week - it was below 3m at points in the summer), and it doesn't look good, does it?

Great ratings for Seven Worlds, One Planet. I am a sucker for a bit of Attenborough.

The Apprentice also seems to be creeping up slightly week on week. :disco:

The X Factor dropping another 500k viewers. It surely has to be axed after this season? SURELY?

We started watching the second episode earlier. After about 10 minutes we decided to give up on it.

I thought the second episode was better than the first but it is surely losing a good chunk of those first episode viewers over the coming weeks.

World On Fire did fairly well. I know from the message at the end that it is coming back but the last episode was unsatisfyingly open-ended, literally everything left hanging.

Gold Digger is the next big BBC drama premiere tomorrow night, and they have been pushing it plenty. It will be interesting to see how that goes.

It certainly did not disappoint. That hour just flew by.

Interesting to see Strictly Results overtake the main show. BBC1 is owning Sunday nights now, so I'll be interested to see how IACGMOOH fares against War Of The Worlds.

Nice to see that X Factor Celebrity appears to have bottomed out.

I’m a Celebrity launched with an average of 10.2 million last night. Down about a million on last years opener.

10.2m is still big though - let's see how it holds on.

I imagine War Of The Worlds will do huge business on iplayer.

Interesting that other than a very small dip from week one to week two, The Apprentice has increased audience week on week.

Yes, 10.2 million is fantastic in this day and age. Like Strictly they have done very little to the initial format, and it seems to work well for them.

Attention TV geeks :david:

The website I use for the chart I post has fucked up this week. It's been updated, but the names of the show isn't showing for most of them. There's another website I use which carries a smaller chart, so I'll wait to see if the one I use corrects itself, or do a shorter chart if not.

Apparently the opening episode of IACGMOOH is the most watched programme of the year so far with consolidated figures of over 13 million.

I'll complete if/when if get the info.

I looked yesterday and the website was fucked like last week, but thankfully it has been updated now, so I'm on it.

Question though - I've always listed the main Strictly show and the results separately as they feel like different shows to me. But my intention was to average the I'm A Celebrity shows. Are people happy with that? I'm certainly not going to list all episodes individually, but should I average the Strictly shows as well?

No, I like the way it is done just now, and agree that the main Strictly show, and the results should be shown separately.

IACGMOOH would pretty much take over the whole chart other than Strictly if you listed them separately, no?

Great figures for I’m A Celebrity considering it has been a pretty beige season.

The War Of The Worlds does not really seem to have taken off. Those figures must be a bit of a disappointment for BBC.

On individual episodes, IACGMOOH is positions 1 - 5 and 8 - 9, with Strictly taking 6 & 7.

Interestingly Strictly's main show has the highest % share of the week though, with 48.8%. IACGMOOH ranged from 39.3% to 46.8% over the week.

Gold Digger had only 3.619m, but that has suffered due to it all bring on iplayer, I'm sure.

I had to binge watch Gold Digger when I found out the whole series was on I played. It was such compulsive viewing I watched it all in one sitting.
