TV Ratings 2021

Although that's a fall for Strictly in terms of audience, the % share actually increased to 53.5%

EastEnders would be #22 with 3.422m

Doctor Who increases to 5.103m with device viewing included, which lifts it clear of Blankety Blank which only increases to 5.044m, but not above Emmerdale (5.160m).

I wonder if that's partly due to the number of episodes now - if you fall more than a week behind, having all those episodes to catch up on may feel like a chore. And people may be more likely to just ask someone else what they missed or Google it.

It's not like a one off drama where you can box set it, see the whole thing and it's done - leave it another week and there are another four episodes minimum to catch up on.
I only watch Corrie but to be honest that’s how I watch… I build up about two or three weeks worth then catch up over a couple of nights, then don’t watch again for ages

Strictly dipping below 10 million. Angela Black has done very well at holding on to its viewers over the run.

I'm unable to give a figure for EastEnders, as two of the episodes are outside the overall top 50. At best (i.e. if I assumed the same figure as the show at #50), it has an average of 3.393m, which would put it at #24, but it's likely to be a little lower than that.

Down a little, but still over 50% audience share (51.6%), but I also think that's the highest audience for the result show yet?

And yes, Angela Black did hold its audience very well. I certainly had my reservations about it!

Nope. But wasn't that all put up on iPlayer? So any viewing before date of broadcast isn't counted.

Oh yes, and the amount of people I have heard saying they binge watched it. I guess they will look at iplayer views for this in terms of success then..

Actually the BARB website does have an option to show 'pre transmission viewing', and Showtrial is there at 4.912m.

IACGMOOH had a % share of 49%, Strictly 52.3%.

IACGMOOH down slightly over 3m on last year. But Strictly also nearly 1.3m down.

Again I can't give a figure for EastEnders as two episodes failed to make the chart entirely. The top individual episode had 3.676m; the best possible average is 3.290m and chart placing best scenario #22.

We were still in a lockdown of sorts this time last year, right? So it understandable that figures are down.

That's a decent bump for The Long Call. I think I did see it being trailed quite heavily post-broadcast as available on the ITV Hub. They were touting it doing well on Britbox as well, I assume that was internationally.

More gay angst and knitwear please.

Agree that Showtrial got more involving as it went on.

Same as the last few weeks for EastEnders - two episodes failed to chart so I can't give an average. The highest individual episode had 3.610m.

As Rita pointed out, we were in lockdown last year so audiences for most shows are down, but it seems significant that IACGMOOH is down about 3.4m, whereas Strictly is only down 0.6m, and GBBO 1.2m.

Probably also worth pointing out that IACGMOOH lost nearly 2m over the week from Monday to Friday.

Usual EastEnders story of last few weeks - I'm unable to give an average as I don't have a figure for the bottom episode which doesn't feature in the top 50 shows. It's probable that EastEnders should be #20 with a figure about 3.5m

I am absolutely AGHAST that OLD TOOT like BLANKETY BLANK still makes top 10, and honestly I really DO watch ANY OLD SHITE.

I caught it late last night, I assume it was a repeat. I thought it was pretty shit. Not seen any ratings info, but I'll have a look.

I watched it tonight, but wasn’t really sure what was going on? If it’s the concept I think it is then surely it is unfair for the girl that went through tonight to compete against everyone if she went through from night one?

I must say though I have a MASSIVE girl crush on Maya Jama.

I think this is the absolute worst I can ever remember it quality wise.

I haven't watched it tonight, but just looking on twitter people have said the concept seems flawed - the winner last night had to choose to leave with 10k or 'Walk The Line' into tonight's show - but she's guaranteed 20k tonight anyway. So why would someone choose to leave?

I didn’t see last nights, but yes she was offered 20k tonight before she decided to walk the line, so as I thought it really doesn’t make much sense.
