I wonder how easy is for sales like that to be tracked? As surely if they’ve stopped selling CDs they no longer report.

Though admittedly in the computer age it might be an easy Head Office group submission, I suppose.

Given that the barcode still needs to be read at the tills, it's probably as easy as extracting the sales of any other item.

If the sales weren't going towards the chart, I'd imagine the labels wouldn't give them stock.

Down to 2 with 44k sales. I presume this will easily feature in the end of year top 10.

it must be looking at year end top 3 considering it's guaranteed to sell over Christmas!

That sounds kind of low compared to the UK which is half the size of Texas!

I'd be interested to see a popularity per capita chart. Might have to suggest it elsewhere and let someone else pick up the work.

But they still got to number 2 - I meant more that US sales must be pretty low generally!
They definitely are but I don't know how it compares to the UK (or other countries). I wonder how much the difference is opening weeks for Adele is between them

assuming at the low end of the scale Voyage sells 27k next week, it will be 3 on the year-end chart at the close of November with around 275k. I can see it easily clearing 450k by end of Dec with some bonanza Christmas sales in the mix, which would hopefully put it above Sour at #2 for the year.

UK’s best selling albums of 2021 up to yesterday:

1 359,250 Olivia Rodrigo Sour
2 248,000 Abba Voyage
3 221,000 Ed Sheeran =
4 212,750 Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia
5 197,500 Queen Greatest Hits
6 180,750 Ed Sheeran ÷
7 177,750 Dave We're All Alone In This Together
8 172,750 Fleetwood Mac 50 Years: Don't Stop
9 171,250 Elton John Diamonds
10 167,750 Weeknd Highlights

#5 with 13K in the mids, just below Sheeran, probably looking at 25-27k by Friday.

I see Adele sold less on physical than Abba. So I'm holding on to that record for them.

Great news, although I worry that Sheeran might overtake them in the year-end.

@ManicKangaroo how likely is that?
Hard to tell at the moment but probably quite likely, they're only around 24k ahead and I suspect Ed's sales will hold up better (certainly streaming,-wise). It's whether ABBA can pull in greater numbers as we get nearer Christmas since they'll benefit more from "gift" sales I expect.

I hope they have more promo planned than knitwear.

8 weeks #1
65 weeks top 10
146 weeks top 20
388 weeks top 40
745 weeks top 75
1023 weeks top 1000

*FLUSH*

28k sold this week for 359k to date! they're at 4 on the year to date chart (Ed overtook this week) but should be 3 at year-end when they pass Olivia Rodrigo.
