Second best Aloud album.

Also:

07 She
11 Memory Of You
09 Its Your Dynamite

07 The Promise
10 The Loving Kind
06 Rolling Back the Rivers in Time
06 Love is the Key
06 Turn to Stone

05 Miss You Bow Wow
05 Revolution in the Head
06 Live in the Country

I'm going to have to go with 10/10, just because I love it so much that it still gets at least 3-4 plays a week, this long after release. The high points really are utterly amazing and the low points are still NOT THAT BAD

09 The Promise
10 The Loving Kind
08 Rolling Back the Rivers in Time
07 Love is the Key
10 Turn to Stone
11 Untouchable
06 Fix Me Up
10 Love is Pain
10 Miss You Bow Wow
08 Revolution in the Head
07 Live in the Country
07 We Wanna Party

This still remains their biggest (and only) let down for me. I find it all so dull and charmless, The Promise and a couple of other moments aside.

10 The Promise
10 The Loving Kind
09 Rolling Back the Rivers in Time
08 Love is the Key
08 Turn to Stone
11 Untouchable
05 Fix Me Up
09 Love is Pain
09 Miss You Bow Wow
06 Revolution in the Head
05 Live in the Country
06 We Wanna Party

08 The Promise
08 The Loving Kind (single mix)
09 Rolling Back the Rivers in Time
04 Love is the Key
05 Turn to Stone
10 Untouchable (both mixes)
04 Fix Me Up
05 Love is Pain
10 Miss You Bow Wow (should've been released - Sarah steals the show completely)
04 Revolution in the Head
04 Live in the Country
04 We Wanna Party

Some of the songs I have no idea how they could've even been considered. Live In The Country is completely embarassing. We Wanna Party is stuck in the early 90s - no soul indeed. As for that intro on Revolution...

However the five or so high points are marvellous. Rolling Back The Rivers is just so charming.

The Revolution intro is SO ridiculous it works, though. The other two (and Fix Me Up) are just a bit not very good.

06 The Promise
11 The Loving Kind
09 Rolling Back the Rivers in Time
06 Love is the Key
09 Turn to Stone
09 Untouchable
04 Fix Me Up
09 Love is Pain
09 Miss You Bow Wow
05 Revolution in the Head
07 Live in the Country
04 We Wanna Party

Their weakest album for me. I don't know when the last time I actually listened to the whole thing was.

Fix Me Up and The Promise aside, great, definitely my favourite GA album.

Probably my least favourite album since their debut. Harks back to the horribly cold and calculated quirkiness of 'Chemistry', although in comparison I'd still listen to a few of the album tracks from that album, whereas I never feel compelled to spin 'Out Of Control' at all.

Some absolutely blinding highlights ("The Loving Kind", "Untouchable", ahum "Miss You Bow Wow"), but just a bit directionless on the whole. I do like their reading of Lene's "We Wanna Party" above-averagely, even if it was a massive step back for them, and I can appreciate "Revolution in the Head" as good faux-racist fun in the CĂ©line Dion "Treat Her Like a Lady" tradition. :D

You do have to wonder if anyone at Xenomania actually cares for "Fix Me Up" at all. I wouldn't be surprised if it was all just an in-joke/dare, to see if they could sneak such a lazy and fundamentally non-GA 'song' past the Polydor bean-counters who demanded a new 12-track album for the Christmas market.

Live In The Country is an absolute joy, completely the best thing I've heard by them and actually goes a long way to excusing some of their middle of the road forgettable singles (I mean the Promise... its a directionless lurch towards a open coffin at best). Pop act does firing drum and bass? Keep it up.

Fantastic description

It's not only ME THEN. I know Sheena will VOODOO ME UP but...

00 The Promise - like being promised a PATISSERIE TASTY and ending up with an OLD BUN
06 The Loving Kind
02 Rolling Back the Rivers in Time
04 Love is the Key
06 Turn to Stone
10 Untouchable
00 Fix Me Up
02 Love is Pain
01 Miss You Bow Wow
02 Revolution in the Head
01 Live in the Country
00 We Wanna Party

Memory Of You is, however, ANOTHER MATTER ENTIRELY :disco:

00 The Promise
10 The Loving Kind
10 Rolling Back the Rivers in Time
06 Love is the Key (the remix peaks higher)
09 Turn to Stone
10 Untouchable
00 Fix Me Up
09 Love is Pain
08 Miss You Bow Wow (inflated score due to the Chemistry evoking sensibilities)
05 Revolution in the Head
05 Live in the Country
07 We Wanna Party (Lene won't exactly have been shitting herself if she ever heard it)

Nicola's rightfully solo Memory of You is one of the finest pop creations of all time, it melts into my conscious like an icicle. It simply cannot be matched by that useless soggy tampon Kimberly on the inferior alternative version.

Love Is Pain is so amazing.

It don't MATTER to me just be FAITHFULL to ME.

Oh COME ON! As if The Promise is 00. Even if you don't like it it's a 05 for a basic pop song. OBV that's a typo

I can't listen to it. I wanted to walk out when they did it on the farewell tour. Walking primrose almost lures me back, but it's so utterly vanilla.

Their second-best album after the near unimpeachable Chemistry.

While The Loving Kind can't escape its Tennant origins, I'd have guessed that Chris Lowe was responsible for the production on Love Is Pain. It could fit effortlessly into Please or Disco. I wish they'd had the foresight to do a Models/In The Night mash up for the eldergay fans.
