The Billie Ray Martin and Electribe 101 Chat Oasis

She has an amazing fucking voice you divvy little CUNT

Just because it's not BLACK and PITCH PERFECT doesn't mean it's not FABULOUS

I just don't like it dears. It IS a very black voice though. It's very diva-ish and BIG... but she doesn't do light and shade enough for me. It's just personal preference. it's weird cos by the criteria I just used I should hate Anastacia's voice, but I don't...

Crap voice? CRAP VOICE?

You can feel the PAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNNN dripping off of every syllable when she sings. Her voice has got FANTASTIC amounts of character.

Frankly :manson:

Oh YES. One of Billie's FINEST moments.

Not EXACTLY Zoe Birkett here

The song Deadline For My Memories OFFICIALLY better than ANAL

"Deadline For My Memories" makes me want to WANK every time I HEAR IT

WITHOUT FAIL

Right who DOESN'T know about the wonder that is BRM?

Time for some Gmailing I think...

Slap "Deadline..." in there for starters. EVERYONE needs to hear Billie deliver THAT line.

God I love 'I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down' by ANN PEEBLES

Paul Young can FUCK RIGHT OFF

Billie has TOP TASTE in collaborators

She DOES. Carla Thomas is no slouch either, but Ann adds so much to Eighteen Carat Garbage - it really is an amazing album.

Hasn't Undisco Me been bandied about as her upcoming single for ages now? It sounds ok, but not one of her best.

She's done the odd single...No Brakes On My Rollerskates and Dead Again were both in the gmail at some point.

There were new remixes of "she regrets" by DJ Hell (on which she sings) last year. Haven't picked them up, but the album version is quite good.

I have no BRM at all and I've heard nothing apart from "Your Loving Arms"

I like the way you boys talk about her though

You are missing a SECRET MASTERPIECE in the form of Deadline For My Memories. Get it, whatever way you can. Not what you'd expect, nothing like "Your Loving Arms", bar maybe one track... Some PROPER beautiful soaring vocal performances on it. Cwej hated it, if that's a recommendation. The second album is alright, but nowhere near as vital...

YOU ARE LIKE QUICKSAND THROUGH MY HEAD

I haven't listened to this for ages... Some of the songs are BETTER than ejaculation...

I think I'd rather this was done by SNAILMAIL. Keeps the DREGS from finding out...

Wasn't 'Inside Out' just an INSPIRED cover version for the ELECTRIBE?

As if the ODYSSEY version wasn't FABULOUS enough

When you're lying in her bed
And you're in her arms instead of mine love
As you feel her tightening grip
Like a genie I will slip in your heart

THERE'S A BODY ON THE FLOOR THAT LOOKS LIKE ME is so over the top, she's obviously enjoying every second of it. I really want a big, deranged ballad from her again.

01. Hearts
02. Deadline For My Memories
03. Your Loving Arms
04. Talking With Myself (Canny 12" vocal)
05. Bright Lights Fading
06. Persuasion
07. Where Fools Rush In
08. Ten Minutes On A Tuesday Afternoon In Buffalo
09. Honey
10. Reality TV (Lonely, Lonely Girl)
11. I've Never Been To Memphis
12. Planet of the Blue
13. I Spent Hours Again (Wishing You Well)
14. Silent Comes The Nighttime
15. Undisco Me
16. Twisted Lover
17. Captain Drag
18. Je Regrette Everything
19. We Shall Be True
20. Insatiable Love

So difficult to put these in order.

I really liked Are You Loathsome Tonight and couldn't believe they didn't include it on The Opiates album. That would have a place in my top 20 if it ever surfaces.

'Hearts' is almost TOO LOVELY

So calm down
HEARTS
Never get WASTED TO THE MOON I don't care
WHERE THE TEARS GO
HEARTS
Never get wasted to my heart
So DON'T GO
And don't stop
RUNNING INTO THE BLUE

I'm off to see Birgit at Shoreditch House next week for an ALBUM FIRST LISTEN PARTY and LIVE SET but I'm not convinced that she's not going to steal the ticket money and put it towards her recent PLEASE PAY FOR OPERATION FOR CATS BECAUSE I POOR AM cash appeal on Facebook

Honestly this woman is a NIGHTMARE
