The Masked Singer picked up as the series went on. I wouldn't be too surprised to see this do the same, although stretching it across the week may make a difference. At what point do they accept that Coronation Street fans do not want to see shootouts, drug dealers and gangsters. They want to see Rita having a gossip in the salon, Tim and Sally having a row over who left the seat up, Gail dancing in the kitchen and Mary having a strop over a burnt bacon bap.
Yes, I think you have hit the nail on the head. The characters are not at all relatable or humorous like they once were. The best one in it these days is Tyrones gran played by Maureen Lipman but they seem to have watered her down a bit now too.
This was from the corresponding week as the last chart I posted - spanning end of May/start of June.
I imagine a significant number of people watched in pubs as well.

According to the overnights:England v Germany peaked at 20.6 million
I presume it’d be even more when factoring in people watching in pubs/fan zones etc
Ukraine v England peaked at 20.9m (81.8%) making it the most watched live event of the year
I assume it's all TV (well, excluding Netflix, Prime etc), as the website I get the chart figures from includes non terrestrial channels.Around 21 million is now 81.8% of all people watching terrestrial tv or tv altogether?
I remember the days when the soaps easily got those figures on a midweek night.
If 21m is about 80%, I guess that means 25m were watching TV in total. Which seems a little more than the number of people watching TV when The Great British Sewing Bee last week (audience of 5.96m, 27% audience share).
Look at the chart I posted earlier - they aren't trying at all! It's not even like the football is getting HUGE audiences.
