Madame X Tour

You have to wonder what the cost of the shows she is doing is to her health, don't you,? Did she seem particularly compromised physically?

You could see she wasn’t moving as much and she wore flats all the way through , and there were things were she wasn’t as involved jn the dancing , but all in all considering you wouldn’t have noticed aside from her mentioning it quite a lot .
She walked past us at the end , I just forget how tiny she really is . And facially she doesn’t look inflated like on some shots

Yeah did Thursday .
I went
And to be fair, it was worth it .

also what a delightful venue .
Yeah, likewise, I'm glad I went. It's a unique side to her live that I've not seen before. If my London show gets cancelled I won't be that annoyed as I'm glad I got to see it once.

No shade intended but if she is not dancing why is she miming 40% of the show?

She is dancing though. And that's the issue - she keeps cancelling because of her injuries but insists on doing the choreography (granted, nowhere near as she used to but still a fair bit).

And anyway that proportion is just my perception. It may be that there's more live singing against backing tracks or through the live autotune/autocorrector. Plus there are two backing singers and the batukadeiras.

Oh

I genuinely thought this was probably the most live tour I’d seen from her

I mean aside from the Vogue rap which I never understand why she can’t speak her own voice live , and some backing tracks, most was live. And she sounded good. Right up until the end .

I hardly think the fans selling themselves on the streets for this are the ones to object to Danger Madge giving them an Anti-Tour style sit-down offering. She could simply be pulled or pushed out on that kid's bike she peddled out on with so much dignity on the Clown shows.

I'm far too unsympathetic to this kind of scenario. I think it's because the last time I saw The Fall, Mark E Smith was in a wheelchair with one arm in a sling - we now know he had terminal cancer and would leave us a couple of months later. This has become the totally unreasonable standard to which I hold such matters.

As such, I hope there's nothing more grave lurking in the background to which we are not yet privy.

I don't think so (but you never know). She's probably due knee replacement surgery and it looks like there's something off with the right hip as well. Standard dancer-type injuries + wear and tear due to age.

How much left is there of this tour? She really should take an extended break after this.

She's already played 40+ shows, and there are 28 left (14 in London and 14 in Paris.)

I honestly can't see her doing more than 10 shows in each city (at most) at this rate.

She should have cancelled the rest of the tour after Lisbon (or re-scheduled the dates 6-12 months later but I understand theatre bookings mean that they would have lost a lot of money.)

I really don't understand why she can't rework the show, so she barely has to move at all. Let the dancers do their thing around her. Surely that would be preferable to this sorry state of affairs.

But that’s what’s been REHEARSED! She’s a busy working mum living hand to mouth! No time to do anything that’s not been REHEARSED!

For what it's worth, the first London show has had rave reviews.

Last night's show was truncated (she skipped the entire first segment.)

Is she still getting the begging bowl out or has someone had A Word?

I’m in London today with OLD ELLEN and am half tempted to keep my eye open for a stupidly cheap ticket- have their been any last minute super cheap options going anywhere or am I barking up the silly tree?

None that I'm aware of (yet) I'm afraid. Can't pull up any tickets on the Ticketmaster website either. Might be worth checking the venue itself if you happen to be nearby?

I saw lots of tickets at below face value or so they claimed advertised HERE the other day:

Sorry I'm on mobile and can't seem to hyperlink.

EDIT: Oh I think it worked anyway. Brexit miracle!

I’ve put a “reverse bid, lowest price wins” post on that Fb page.

What happened to the 10 £10 daily tickets that were promised on her website?

She hasn't cancelled my shows, but I note she dropped the first act of the second show.
I wish she'd just CANCEL or postpone. I'd rather not see the show at all, than see a butchered version of it with her clearly in pain. I've heard she's on stage in LEG RESTRAINTS.

By dropping the first act, does that mean she doesn't open with God Control, or the songs that follow it?

It is a real shame, but all these shows were too ambitious whether she was injured or not, one feels

She opened the last London concert with "Vogue." So the entire first segment (God Control / Dark Ballet / Human Nature + Express Yourself) was cut.

I think (and hope) that was a one-off because she was a bit late and there is a strict sound curfew.

If she is on time tonight there is in theory no reason not to play the whole show in full.

.

Oh dear, nothing like paying through the roof and then being late and not doing an entire act,
Still. I'm sure the audience lost their shit at a Vogue opening!

I think Crave is out now too, so that's 20% of the set list out. Even more time to enjoy the free VIP pay cash bar!

Not even 10% let alone 20. And Crave didn’t really fit in the setlist so I am glad it’s out. I’m not here for a reductive Deeper and Deeper remix thank you. It just didn’t flow from Come Alive to disco Crave to Like a Prayer.

but let’s see how my second show in London works out next week and I’ll let you know. I don’t think any concert should be over 2hrs so some cuts are welcome. Just not the opening segment which really is quite something...

Oh GIVE OVER :D

Last night’s show was performed in full apart from Crave which has probably been given the chop permanently.

I didn’t find a ticket. I think cancelling gigs meant people were clamouring for them. Even the full price ones went on Twickets.
