Kylie - Magic

To me it sounds like an amalgam of You To Me Are Everything and Chained To The Rhythm.

It is SO Chained to the Rhythm! Not that it's stolen from it, but it's TOTALLY of that ILK! I can't understand those who can't hear it.
Yeah and not just that particular song, but the vibe in general is very Katy Perry..

On first listen, I like it rather than LOVE IT, but that's ok- and it could well be a grower. It's certainly an ear worm...
Same.

I wouldn't be surprised if I end up preferring it to 'Say Something' when all is said and DONE.

The bum-di-di-di-boum in the outro is very very similar. That's what does it for me I think.

I have listened to the Magic EP four times now and I am moving on. Not quite rinsed it like I did with Say Something (probably a mistake tacking that on the end as it really does sound so much stronger), but overall I love it. It's an 8 to Say Something's 10, but Say Something really was a triumph like no other (for the first two weeks of its release...)

So I did think I was going a bit crazy when it felt like the verses seemed shorter in the clip @dUb posted and indeed they are:

Why they felt the need to crop the verses for the single, I do not know. It sounds stunted.

I like this so much more than Say Something. Basic but like, fun basic.

I find this to be one of her least "dance pop" singles since X at the very least, if not Body Language. It's just a pop song with a mild disco current. In that sense it feels like a switch-up for Kylie.

It’s made it straight onto my Rotation playlist which is difficult to get not everybody has that

Who needs Radio 1/2/5 Live :disco:

I like better on second listen but it isn’t really grabbing me like Say Something

“Do you believe... in magic”

I hope Debbie McGee is in the video

It's SO much more basic than Say Something. I really like it and it'll probably get good airplay etc, but ironically, it doesn't have the *magic* of Say Something. It'll definitely appeal to those who prefer their bops a bit more basic though, of which there are many.

Haters need to do a disappearing act tbh x

They played a clip of the video on Lorraine. It didn't look anywhere near as cool as the pic she posted from it. More of an S Club 7 vibe about it from the clip they showed.

the purple hooded look is FABULOUS and a total Head throwback but those camera angles? Sophie, sis... there's always something.

She is officially listed as one of the writers btw so that means there's just one track on Disco which doesn't include her input.

I didn’t really like the song or the clip from the video.
Say Something is a good song with a bad video, Magic is an average song with (what looks like) a basic video.
This era so far has left me quite underwhelmed.

This one has divided fans much more so than Say Something.

Nice as it is, I don't think it will ever eclipse SS which will probably end up in my top 5 Kylie songs EVER.

I think Magic will have a more broad appeal than Say Something

While iTunes is increasingly becoming less and less relevant, Magic is currently at #3 and #41

AGOG

surely that STAFF she's supporting her considerable weight against is full of DARK MAGIC designed to turn the whole world DEEPLY HOMOSEXUAL

could just be a prop though I suppose

It's just a DISCO STICK innit?

So in other news, according to SH all it took for Kylie to be played (and listed) by Magic radio is to have a song named after them (apparently they haven't touched her since Kiss Me Once).

well, there's also a good case to be made that this is her broadest appeal song since (at least) the Kiss Me Once era - I smell a UK airplay #1 incoming

It's only missing a few DOUBLE CLAPS

I think I prefer the Single Edit also for what it's worth. It zips along nicely

Why are there THREE versions on the iTunes chart? Which is the one at No.8?

Actually, there are 3 versions in the iTunes chart, at 3, 9 and 43 :disco:
