The Moopy Celebrity "Cancellation" Tracker

Well we can always claim we were referencing the guy who orchestrated the murder of a pregnant woman....or maybe we can call it the Sia

I think given the context that smiley is generally used in, it's ALRIGHT to stay :eyes:

Oh is THAT where that emoji comes from? I always thought it had something to do with the Manson family lol

I have long gone past associating the smilie with the person but we need to be open to the idea that this might not be the case across the board. It's hardly a portrait and it's not as if we've cropped a photo unlike, say, :enya:

The trailer was enough to know it was a horrific portrayal of autism, and the group that she consulted with on the project is notorious among the autistic community for championing a "cure" for autism. It was never going to go well

Here’s a scathing review from Vanity Fair

https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2021/02/review-sias-music-wont-make-the-people-come-together

Sia wrote the film with children’s book author and inspirational Instagrammer Dallas Clayton, a hash of a script that never feels sourced in anything true. The film merely gestures toward tangible, credible life in its flurry of aggressive whimsy. YouTube stars these days often talk of authenticity as being the true commodity of the present day; though drenched in YouTube-y color, Music presents as the furthest thing from authentic.

Sia makes a jaw-dropping cameo, as Sia, in the film—she was unable, it seems, to protect even herself from her movie’s toxic gravity. By the point she arrives, it has become clear that Music is not actually the focus of Music at all. She is merely ancillary window dressing, much like Leslie Odom, Jr.’s wise immigrant boxing instructor character, Ebo. Even Zu’s life, her struggles with addiction and other self-destruction, don’t seem to be the central care of the film. Music is really about its creators’ own vanity, an advertisement for Sia’s and Clayton’s brands. “The people who made this are good and magical,” the film insists in every frame, even as it makes one ugly, unforgivable blunder after another. Music is a song best left unplayed—spare your ears, your mind, and your heart the trouble

Some chat about that in the TV forum, thought it was thread-worthy!

There’s been rumours about Joss Whedon being a bully for a long time. But then many directors and producers have had horrific reputations in a pre-cancellation time. I wonder if any more will resurface.

James Cameron springs to mind.

Gina Carrano who’s currently on the Mandolorian and who’s always had terfy/qanony posts did this today

I reckon they'd probably let her go a while ago, going by how she'd been ramping this stuff up in the past couple of months - anyway, she wasn't a particularly great actress so I'll not be sad to see her go.

Also one of the new Star Wars Disney+ shows they announced a few months ago sounded like it MIGHT have been based around her character, so it's possible she has managed to tweet herself out of not one but two jobs here :eyes:

Well that's fucked. Not that one, but some of the other pictures from the thread make it look like she's in blackface as well (I know she's not).

I'm sure Sia's defense will be that there are people with autism who make faces like that. But that doesn't make it any better, since its still stereotyping and choosing a very othering way to play the character

Apprentice contestant, and Caroline Flack's ex, Andrew Brady has alleged that awful tabloid demon Dan Wootton is a wrong'un.

HASHTAG NONCE :D

when you want to EXPOSE somebody but your INTELLECT is about as RICH as your BANK BALANCE :(

I didn't realise (obviously really) that he's leaving The Scum to join the Fail and GBNews.

Nonce revelations would make my millennium.

The link in his insta bio is a wild ride.

DAME LIZZIE CUNDY getting dragged into this!

I was hoping he had personally bullied 1200 people, but it turned out they are just showing support
