The Final Fantasy lounge

I've like 2 hours into the game and I'm already stuck in a dungeon :D Should have listened when the game told me to save to a separate file :(
 
I do too, just wish the female character was more than the supporting soft and trusting girl.
 
Why do I find Clive, Josh and Jill absolutely hilarious as fantasy names? I hope they're joined by a viera named Karen and a moogle called Babs.
 
This is all definitely looking VERY promising. The story is already much more engaging I think, which in my opinion has always been FF's greatest strength.

So far it looks like it could somewhat resemble FF9 :disco:

I feel like they've basically spoiled the opening section of the game between the trailer and the information on this site - it looks quite clear to me that poor poofy Joshua will die during the big Phoenix/Ifrit fight and give Clive his power (or it passes to him since they're brothers), hence why his arm is all firey in the promo image. It's unclear what role Jill will play in all this, but HUGS FOR JILL anyway.
 
They might do a FFXV and release the first act as an interactive experience.
 
Here for the Yoshida artwork :disco: even if you can tell the brief was "edgy medieval".
 
The art is by Kazuya Takahashi (FFXIV character designer), but his style is quite similar to Yoshida - I thought it was him too at first :o

I’m getting FFXII vibes from the art (hopefully a better story).

Has anyone watched the Japanese family drama and bizarre tie-in “Dad of Light”? :D
It’s like a father son drama but they’re playing FFXIV together.

The son is cute but definitely knows it, and can sometimes look like a sulky toddler

Not really, but I can definitely see why straight guys would hype up the love triangle. I just love her rolling her eyes and "of course the GIRL has to HEAL EVERYONE", she's got a point and she is the moment etc.
 
She's not wrong that the game's female representation is kinda BINARY, but Aerith (or Aeris DEPENDING ON THE VERSION OF THE GAME YOU PLAY!!!1 *crazy eyes*) is more than just a "healer", she is the last of the Cetra, who can also be male, and Tifa is more than a sexy girl in hotpants, she is a bioterrorist who did anal for the Italian Senate.
 
In all seriousness, I would have been more impressed with Robert if he had said: WELL ACTUALLY, the protagonist of Final Fantasy VI is a woman who isn't a HEALER or a SEXPOT, and the other main female character in the game is a GENERAL who PONDERS the futility of LIFE atop a hill.
