UK: The Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson years - problematic + infected + broke the law + electoral poison + sneks + not very good + OVER (funny)

Has he outstayed T-May?
Not yet.

Any normal human would be gone by the morning. I have a sneaking regard he'll stay until he's pushed, which could be VERY SOON.

Bet Rishi wishes he'd resigned when he was still DISHY and hadn't been outed as a FISHY tax-dodger.

It's so bizarre that Boris has basically been fired from every job he's ever had, except for Mayor of London.

Nadine has just trotted out of Downing Street, without expressing her normal nonsense.

Is there the possibility he can’t fill the vacant posts? Has that ever happened?

Still quite a few cabinet members still not confirmed if they're staying or going.

Watch my MP Will Quince, who was trotted out yesterday, get a promotion. He's an absolute blank canvass and will toe every government line.

Separately, there probably won't be a general election any time soon, if the Tories have any sense anyway. The economy might really suddenly turn around, but it's more likely they're going to end up white knuckling it to the end of 2024 for things to ease off on that front as much as possible. The energy price cap's due to go up again in October for one. 2023 isn't going to be pretty.

Agreed. There are shades of 1997 in my view - albeit a far more parlous economic position today. Holed below the waterline and they will go right to the end. Perhaps the only thing to cling to is an opposition that hasn’t sealed the deal in the way Blair did (but fortunately for Labour right now, it doesn’t really need to).

With Brexit done, a Tory majority in 2024 is surely very unlikely. Starmer isn't Blair BUT they've not been able to pin shit on him.

I was (disturbingly) thinking more of Major and 1992!
