Yes - Tugendaht should squeak throughWho's not getting through today then? The likely assumption would be Zahawi, Braverman and Hunt.
Mordaunt is asked what seems to be a question about trans, and how you define a woman. (It is not clear, because the questioner is not using a microphone, and so TV viewers cannot hear.)
Mordaunt replies:
It was Margaret Thatcher who said every prime minister needs a Willie. A woman like me does not have one.
And I think this is exactly what will draw Conservative members to her, it's as much about who can beat Labour as it is about policy.Oh god...as much as there is an argument for her being one of the less out-right awful(although still awful ones) I also think she's probably the only one the public would be prepared to give a chance(even Sunak I think would struggle against Labour now) and thus landing us with these fuckers for another 5 years.
Its a dilemna.
I'm WAGERING he's likely as BIG A CUNT as she is

I'm just quite enjoying the fact our currently most likely future PM has a tattooed muscle queen twin brother.
Or even, I imagine it is pretty tiring to have people piling on to ask you about your EVIL TWIN, and he just wants peace.Sadly he appears to have shut his whole social media down. I presume not to distract or contradict from his sister.
I think she knows as well as anyone following this race and the current state of the Tories that she won't win broad enough support to become leader if she doesn't at least pay lip service to the culture wars that the party's right are INSISTENT on igniting.Whilst I appreciate Penny's LGB support, her current anti- trans rhetoric doesn't fill me with hope that he's had that much real influence...

her previous, very recent public support for trans people suggests she's saying what she has to say to snatch the win here. that in itself is alarming, of course, but I don't believe any current rhetoric (and what she's said has nothing on Braverman, Badenoch etc.) will translate into policy if she becomes PM.
So she actually doesn't believe any of the shit she's coming out with and is just doing it to win votes so she's not that bad?
OOOOOOK...
Isn’t that what every single one of them does?
“I know I voted against gay marriage 73 times but I like the gays now, especially the ones that vote for me”
Should've absorbed her in the womb then, shouldn't he?Or even, I imagine it is pretty tiring to have people piling on to ask you about your EVIL TWIN, and he just wants peace.
That wasn't my point. But throwing a previously well held belief under the bus doesn't make you any better than those who Jark compared her to. Some may argue it's a lot worse than sticking to your guns.
some may argue you say what you have to say to secure a position over dangerous people who actually want to do harm. i am not saying it's pretty, or particularly moral. i am saying it's quite clear that Pen's statement about "biological women" was a riposte to Badenoch briefing against her, and Pen needing to secure votes from people on the far right. That wasn't my point. And now she's some kind of SAVIOUR, leading us all away from the EVIL RIGHT?some may argue you say what you have to say to secure a position over dangerous people who actually want to do harm.
It's about that, FULL STOP.Pen needing to secure votes from people on the far right.
wow, somebody's reactionary today. i never said that. look at it for what it is -- a choice between candidates who are hardline anti-trans right, who put up "men" and "women" signs on bathrooms in venues they come to speak in, vs. somebody who made a vague twitter statement about biological women because the party demands a stance on this. who do you think is more likely to erode trans rights in they make it into office? And now she's some kind of SAVIOUR, leading us all away from the EVIL RIGHT?
What ARE you banging on about?
she was minister of state for trade policy, not chancellor of the exchequer. she has never aligned herself with Boris or done his dirty work, unlike Truss or Suella.Remember, this is the woman that sat SILENT through pretty much all of BORIS' nonsense, so scared she was of rocking the boat and ruining a potential run at the crown.

He’s SO hot that he surely can’t be a Tory?
