Alanis Morissette - Under Rug Swept/Feast On Scraps sync listen (Sunday 7 March, 6PM)

For letting you decide if I indeed was desirable
For my self-love being so embarrassingly conditional
And for denying myself to somehow make us compatible
And for trying to fit a rectangle into a hole
To whom do I owe the biggest apology?
No one's been crueler than I've been to me

OMG

OMG

Hard relate?

For ignoring you, my highest voices
For smiling when my strife was all too obviouis
For being so disassociated fom my body
And for not letting go when that would have been the kindest thing

You and me estranged from the mother
You and me have felt impotent in our skin
You and me have taken it out on each other
You and me disloyal to the feminine

Lyrically somrthing ewse. :disco:

I love that it's a song about the need to break into the 'boy's club' and the men have the women competing for that spot, to impress them. Ugh SO GOOD

A song becoming a huge hit in Brazil is the new being about Courtney Love

Yeah it's a bit ploddy but I love Offer so much. Another one about Alanis being so selfless she forgets to take care of herself. What a saviour that woman is. :emoji_pray:

It's a sweet song - the pressure of feeling you need to be good and help others, but it can be emotionally draining always being there for others when you don't necessarily feel great about yourself (and in Alanis' case, her success)
