Alanis Morissette - Under Rug Swept/Feast On Scraps sync listen (Sunday 7 March, 6PM)

I haven't heard these before so I don't have much to say, but I am enjoying them and need to go back to them with the lyrics open

This grief overwhelms me
It burns in my stomach
And I can't stop bumping into things :(

I love 'Simple Together'. I'm sure I had a MOMENT or TWO to this when I broke up with my Alanis-obsessed ex many years ago.

This one's deceptively simple - it's straight forward but lines like "With you I knew god's face was handsome, with you I suffered an expansion" and "If I had a dime for every hand thrown up in the air, my wealth would render this no less severe" are excellent.

"I thought we'd have children together" is one of the most heartbreaking lines I think...She's constructed a whole family that's been wiped out

I can't remember if you liked Shura, but her song Kids N Stuff was of a similar theme and also very sad

If you weren't so wise beyond your years, none of this would have happened is such a cruel thing to say
