Might be worth googling 'covid vaccine + area you live

In my area you can book direct via a local website, and that site has listed individual conditions that make you eligible

I tick the "I am not an eligible frontline health or worker care worker" and then I'm eligible. Do I LIE?

I feel a bit bad for LYING, but then I'm in TWO GROUPS who can have it.

I’ve just booked too - currently the rule is you can only book if you are an external person coming in to work with an SEN child 1:1. Well, all those specialists are just working with those children over Zoom, whereas I’m actually in the same room as these children everyday :DAF: They really do hate teachers don’t they

When am I likely to get the vaccination? I’m sure I heard they were starting the over 40’s soon but may be mistaken.

Guys just lie on the link Star shared. We're all gonna get it at some point.

Oh I AM pleased!

Yeah be careful Ag, at my clinic they ID’d everyone for either a letter from the workplace or workplace ID and they did turn people away who didn’t have anything.

Yeah I'm certainly not going to be skipping the queue. I'm fine with someone who is overdue to be contacted to do it, but I'll wait my turn.

By 15th April, everyone over 50 and younger people with underlying conditions should have received one dose.

Over 40s are next so after 15th April and before the end of May would be the best estimate at the moment depending on how well your area is doing.

The email doesn't say anything about ID.

Eurgh. What a quandary.

Might just phone my GP.

The thing is you are genuinely in one of the groups that they are vaccinating right now. Did you recieve a letter or anything from your GP?

Saying that, my friend who has CF booked through that link because he was sick of waiting and he got his done no problem.

This is it - no, but I'm due.

It's at the stadium so not sure if they'll be asking for ID. Will ask people who have been vaccinated there.

It's fraud and it really wouldn't surprise me if they made a huge example of someone who did this.

hmm, this post made me cancel my appointments! About 5 of my colleagues have had it last week by just going and saying they work with young children, but for me the anxiety of being arrested by gunpoint and being made a STOP FUNDING HATE headline outweighs the fear that the government are trying to kill me :(

I would keep the appointment for now, but try and speak to your gp to get some sort of letter as proof.

I might just phone my GP, be honest and see what they say. I can't see my arrest being imminent.

There is definitely a recurring sense of unfairness about this whole thing. On the DAY that the government announced that teachers and police officers are less important than 40 year olds who work from home and don't have to see anyone in their day to day life at all, my friend's boyfriend who is 28, with un underlying health conditions, received a letter from his GP inviting him in for his jab.

The thing is Matt, is in his 30s, is a teacher AND has the same GP, but did not receive the letter which felt like a fucking kick in the teeth for him, when his boyfriend works from him, is younger and has absolutely no reason to receive the vaccination.

And yes @Suomi - you're right. They really really fucking hate teachers. It;s never been more apparent. But unlike America, where in most states the unions have stood up for them and told them to refuse to go back to work until they are vaccinated, over here our unions have basically done sweet FA. (Not that I'm in one :D But this is the first thing I've felt strongly enough to become a member of one for - and they've done nothing anyway).

I feel really strongly that all emergency services workers should be vaccinated too, such as police. Watching them walking into parties and arresting people when they've not been made safe themselves. It's really quite outrageous that they're being expected to do that and put themselves at risk.

I don't understand ... if you're already in a priority group, then why would you need to lie to be vaccinated quicker?

One thing I don't understand is how the BBC are reporting things like this:

'From Monday, nearly two million people aged 60 to 63 in England will start receiving letters inviting them to book their vaccine.'

I'm pretty sure most 60-63 year olds have had their letter in the last 2 weeks. They always seem to be behind what's actually happening (which is good I guess!)

Fingers crossed your veins have been FILLED with lovely lovely vaccine :disco:

As the trial jab I had has now been approved in the US, we will all be unblinded as soon as they've done the protocol amendments. Exciting :disco:

Was it the Johnson & Johnson?

She's "old enough and smart enough" to get it :disco: I'm honored to have paved the way for her
