True Fact: I once did a 00’s top 100 songs and Born This Way came on top.

(Well, technically speaking it’s a 90’s song, but it kickstarted the millennium)

EDIT: OMG I of course mean Born to Make You Happy and nothing else!!!
The power of Born This Way. Coming top of countdowns a decade before it was even released.

3 is a song for the comedown from tina pre-party, when you have no soul nor energy left but your inner demons still want you to look for sex and you keep scrolling past profiles on grindr until you fall asleep.
Gimme More and Mannequin do that whole zombie sex vibe much better.

IMAGINE being one of those queens that doesn't put Before The Goodbye in their chart, though

Lately, I've been favouring her LESS known songs, as in album bonus tracks or the ones released in those random EPs she threw out during her wilderness years.
I'm sorry my Top 20 is so Blackout heavy, but that has been my pop Bible for a decade now and the nerve we never got to have a sequel is unforgivable.

1. I'm a slave 4 u
2. Overprotected
3. (You drive me) Crazy [Stop Remix]
4. Gimme more
5. Do somethin'
6. Piece of me
7. Toy soldier
8. Hot as ice
9. Break the ice
10. Before the goodbye
11. Get back
12. Get naked (I've got a plan)
13. I've just begun (having my fun)
14. Over to you now
15. Till the world ends
16. Up'n'down
17. Quicksand (uncredited appearance by Miss Germanotta)
18. What u see (is what u get)
19. Cinderella
20. Born to make you happy
21. Gasoline
22. Breathe on me
23. Mood ring
24. I Wanna go
25. Coupure électrique

In hindsight, a lot of single choices were quite shit (Radar, I love rock and roll, Overprotected Remix, Don't let me be...), it was all about the deep album cuts for me! I recall buying her earlier albums and thinking "whew, they could really squeeze about 8 singles from this hot shit".

Can you imagine if Gags had become Britney's full-time ghost writer for Circus and beyond? We would have got so many great bops, beautiful bops.

what a fantasy.

The fact it's just a bonus track on a DIGITAL edition of Circus (US territories only) speaks volumes and obvious backpedaling, did her team panic it would cause gay comas everywhere?

It's a miracle that the entire gay community did not die of severe anal fissuring in between the Blackout and Born This Way eras.
